I've had Julian breads and I personally think this is way better. It's still not exactly like "real bread" but it's the closest I've ever had in a low carb version of bread. I'd try one loaf and see what you think. Then if you like it, order some more.

I've made my own homemade bread and I think this Low Carb Bread Company bread is much better than any I've made. I hope you find that you like it too.

They have now added onion pockets and dinner rolls. As long as you don't mind paying 8.00 for 6 dinner rolls!

I received my Great Low Carb Bread Company order on Friday night and it is fantastic. We toasted the hot dog rolls and put a little melted butter on them. And then we made submarine sandwiches (hoagies to others) -- an Italian sandwich with capicola, salami, provolone, peppers, hots, tomato and good olive oil and a grilled chicken with low carb honey mustard. So delicious. This bread is great. We are going to make homemade low carb pizza with the pizza dough today. I highly recommend Great Low Carb Bread Company.

I have tried the everything bagels and hamburger buns. The buns are not like the real deal if you expect soft buns. The buns have a bagel texture, so not soft. The taste was great of both items, no werid taste at all. Too pricy is the only bad thing. I will buy them again .

Someone was asking if they are in a store. Doesn't look like it. The company is based out of North Hollywood area in Southern California. Per their website, they only sell online right now.

Yes, they make pizza dough and we had the low carb pizzas tonight. After adding your toppings, they say to cook at 350 degrees for five minutes but we found it needed an extra 4-5 minutes in the oven

We had a half sausage/riccotta and a half pepperoni/mozzerella. We lightly brushed olive oil on the crust and covered with a few tablespoons of fresh chopped garlic, low sugar marinara sauce, cooked homemade Italian sausage, pepperoni, mozzerella and riccotta and topped with salt and pepper. It was delicious -- much better than I expected. Now the dough isn't really dough per se -- it is a crust really, and it tastes fine but not like the best-crust-you-ever-tasted. Not gourmet at all but it "does the job." If you keep your expectations in check, you will really like the result.

EXACTLY. I too feel burned by Julian breads. Terrible. I too threw out my order. Inedible, imo.

I get Trader Joe's 4 NCs a slice sprouted wheat and enjoy it a couple of times a week. But if there is a 1 NC slice of bread that tastes and feels as good, AND that offers the variety of hamburger, hot dog and bagels, I'd be willing to give it a try. Will keep my eye on this thread.

And note, imo, all LC breads are better toasted and buttered. Have never eaten the TJ bread w/out doing that, just assume toasted will be better, not to mention the butter.

But the million dollar question is have any of these items stalled you or made you gain? I currently have some buns by the Great Low Carb Bakery and I'm too scared to try them.

I much prefer this bread to Julian's. Taste and texture is much better to me. I can't speak to weight loss but I am in maintenance and eat a slice of bread toasted every morning and it hasn't made me gain lol. I am also diabetic and my bgs are OK with this bread - no big spikes at all. I am so happy to have bread back in my diet!

That's basically what I wanted to know, if you have seen any gains. I think I'm going to try to work some of this (probably the bagels, I could care less about the bread) into my plan and see if I can still lose. When I get some money to order some lol.

We got the pumpernickel and everything bagels...originally I bought it for my DH who was returning to Lowcarb.. I wanted to ease him into it...well..Im impressed...He had them 3x a week..I eventually ate them 2x a week...didn't stall at all...no wheat belly for me...my husband likes them in sandwiches...with breakfast toasted...I prefer them in sandwiches...and with turkey sausage and cheese for breakfast...not fond of them alone.
They are pricey....but worth it..Ill limit to once a month order..

So, after reading this thread for the last day or two, I did my research. I read reviews on Amazon and Netrition as well as here. And the reviews are very good, like they are on this thread, including some from folks w/diabetes.

This company is fairly new, and there isn't much internet buzz on them yet. And we can only hope they are not another Julian Bakery. But such is life on a low carb woe---one must experiment, and most of the market is not with us, so if there's a company that's trying to make good low carb bread, I'm all over it.

I know there are those here who are good bakers, and make amazing things when it comes to low carb breads. Watched a couple of Maria's videos today for her protein and other breads, and it was fun to see, but it isn't for me. I don't have the time nor is it efficient on the budget to buy all the ingredients needed for every LC bread recipe, unless it's what you love to do.

I am fortunate to have a Trader Joe's close, and have depended on their sprouted wheat 4 NCs a slice bread for those times I want a sandwich or a slice of toast.

What intrigued me about The Great Low Carb company is that they offered bagels and onion pockets, like an onion bun I presume. So I placed a netrition order for the bagels and the onion pockets, and a loaf of bread. Not cheap, but w/shipping still under $30 for all three.

I don't need it every day, couple of times a week is fine. All freeze well, so for under $30 I could be enjoying this for quite awhile. Will report back on what I think, and keep my eyes peeled on this new company, and the veracity of their nutritional labels.

I've had the Great Low Carb buns sitting in my freezer because I've been too scared to try them. I broke down last night and had one. It does resemble a bagel in texture but it tasted great. The bun size fit my burger just right. I took it out of the freezer and microwaved it for 30 sec to thaw but I think that was too long. Now the best part, I still lost a pound overnight. I started running again yesterday so I don't know if that makes a difference. Like maybe I would have lost 2 lbs if I hadn't eaten the bun? I don't know but usually I gain when I try to eat bread like products (i.e. MIMs). So for the moment, I would definitely order these again but not sure if I would eat them every day.

Well add me to the guinea pig list.
My lovely wife and I sat down and went through what we would like to try. Here's the list! When it comes in, I'll snap some pictures of real meal food aka Hamburgers on the buns, how dogs or bratz on the buns bagels etc.

We shall see!

Everything Bagels
Sesame Bread
Hamburger Buns
Hot Dog Buns
Onion Pockets

Wish us luck!
