Eating Dreams

Last night I had a binge dream. It was my second one this month.

In the dream, I was at some sort of function that had row after row of buffet tables loaded with every sugar and carb filled food you could imagine (and dayum if I don't say I have quite the culinary imagination). I was gorging on all of the food, loading up my plates (yes, plural... plates), and eating items right at the tables.

When I first wake, I feel regret and disappointment until I realize I didn't really do it. It leaves me feeling disturbed.

Has anyone else experienced this?

aaah dream sister ... I have the same problem... every once in a while when I am dieting I get these super realistic food dreams... the last one I had was about a week ago and I actually woke up feeling full. They scare me badly until I realize it was just a dream.

One time I was doing a water fast and dreamed that I accidently ate some fruit, I woke up freaking out about mindlessly slipping up! Disturbing as heck.

Over the years, I've had many dreams where I'd be in a cafeteria type setting, trying to get to the items I wanted and something would always be in the way...people, furniture, you get the picture. Or they would be out of what I'd want. Or I'd end up with so much on my tray I'd be embarrassed.

Hmm.... Nope! Never had that one! But some other really weird ones. At least it is just a dream. Right?!!

I have weird crazy dreams by default. One dream I did have a while ago involved me imbibing a giant bottle of Coca Cola classic before realizing (horrified) that it was, in fact, COCA COLA CLASSIC! Mind you, I haven't touched a soda to my lips in over a year and and a quarter and have no desire to do so, either. ??? The subconscious works in strange ways.

Glad to know I am not alone!

I remember when DH quit smoking, he would sometimes dream he had a cigarette and would wake up feeling awful. This makes me think the dream is sort of a ‘recovering from an addiction’ type of thing. What surprises me is that I had not had one at all until recently, and my lifestyle changed twenty months ago. Weird.

Thanks again for sharing so I don’t feel like a total freak!
