Move it 203! You're outta here!

So I've been reading a lot this morning on a meat and egg fast. To break out of a "stall" or get things moving again, and I'm slowly convincing myself this is possible for me to do, so here's the plan of attack.

I'm going to write down my menu for a 3 day meat and egg fast, which will include butter and coconut oil, I am going to cut out dairy for these 3 days, and also alcohol. Also no veggies or diet cokes, the only artificial sweetener will be my sweet n low with coffee or iced tea.

This is not going to be easy, but I'm convinced it's something I need to do to get over this damned 203 lb hump I've had going on, for 3 weeks. :annoyed:

Today is going to be day one, so I should be done by Monday and see if I want to extend it til Tuesday. Losing dairy is the biggest drawback, as I'm very used to any reliant on cheeses, hwc, sour cream, dairy based sauces etc.

Here's hoping!

Good luck Susan hope it works I should give meat and egg a try it might get my weight moving again let me know how it woks for you.:D

greengeeny 10-26-2013 11:10 AM

I know you can do it. The alcohol might be hard over the weekend, but do you have to work at the bar this weekend? If not, it won't be that hard. 3 days is not that bad. Can't wait to see your results on monday!!!

Blue Skies 10-26-2013 11:17 AM

Good luck susan! Let us know how it works.

Since you're got lots of eggs in your future, Here's a great way to make them, if you like 'em scrambled. Heat up a thin layer of olive oil in the frying pan till it's very hot. Crack your eggs in and scramble to where you like 'em, goes VERY FAST. Lift off burner and fold in a nice big scoop of cream cheese and jives---gets all melty quickly, and you end up with fluffy, cheesy eggs that I like to drip hot sauce over. Yummy, particularly with some crispy bacon.

Maryposa 10-26-2013 11:18 AM

I hope it works for you! Looking forward to hearing your results!

Jenn11 10-26-2013 11:31 AM

3 days, you can do it! who knows you might even land straight into the 100's this way. :up:I think cutting out all dairy is a great idea. Keep at it and let us know how you do.

3 days is not that bad, you're right! No bar til Tuesday so I'm ok with the no alcohol, except tonight is the UT/TCU game and we are all gathering to watch it. But I drank last night and I normally don't have alcohol 2 days in a row. So I'll be ok with that. :stars:

It's the dairy that's gonna be tough! I'm convinced I was a rat in my former life and lived only on cheese lol.

2muttsmom 10-26-2013 10:10 PM

Dairy doesn't seem to affect me but I cannot lose at all if I drink alcohol. You might try leaving that out once your fast is over and you've reintroduced dairy and see if that's the real culprit.

Good luck.

susan41 10-27-2013 05:55 AM

Morning, so today is first full day of M&E, skipped the usual hwc in my coffee so far this morning because I decided no dairy while doing this. Blah. Lol.

How many of you still include hwc when cutting out dairy? Do you think of it as dairy or fat?

clackley 10-27-2013 05:57 AM

Good luck Susan. Hope this is what it takes to move those lbs!!

I'm on day 7 of meat/eggs/fat, and I still use HWC in all of my coffee. My normal weekly loss is measured in ounces, but yesterday I weighed it at 128.6 from the previous week's weight of 131 (I weigh every Saturday). I miss fruit and cheese, but I find M/E to be pretty easy. I've found myself getting a little nauseous every 2 or 3 days and when that happens I have a kosher, all beef hot dog (I like Sabretts) with mustard and a very small amount of reduced sugar ketchup. Takes it away immediately.

There's a thread in the "other plans" forum if you want to join others who are doing the same thing.

Susan have you tried the bullet proof coffee? adds fat and give it a nice froth that mimics creamy drinks...

I have no stick blender and I don't really like the iced thing anyways, I do a version of it though,

First cup of coffee is like this.. Coffee, stir, take hot spoon scoop CO out of jar, melt in mouth, chase with hot coffee lol. Then.. Second cup of coffee I do the same process with kerrygold, hot spoon of butter and chase. Likely not the ideal way to do it but it works for me.

bobbinb 10-28-2013 10:49 AM

I also cant budge on alcoholl seems every time I drink I gain weight. But I have read that even though hard liquor has no carbs it turns into sugar when it gets into your body. So be careful with that.

susan41 10-29-2013 06:56 AM

Well well well, hello 202 this morning. Feeling really good with the M&E so am going to stick with it another day or two. Hoping for another loss!

snowangel9 10-29-2013 10:43 AM

lol - I was just checking to see how it was going! Good for you! Nice to see the scale moving in the right direction! There's a little motivation to continue hu?

susan41 10-29-2013 03:05 PM

I am still hanging in there yep, it's not as bad as I expected. I do have a case of the afternoon blahs and am unusually tired right now, so going to try to listen to my body and hang on my sofa until the fiancÚ gets home at 730 when he's promised to grill these beautiful rib eyes I bought! I've got a chicken simmering right now for the broth and the chicken for some chicken salad for this weekend. If I still feel uber tired I'll have a little broth, it's salted pretty liberally and should perk me up

snowangel9 10-29-2013 05:19 PM

Hu, do you suppose the caffeine in the diet cokes was keeping you going? So, without those, this is how tired you are? I think I remember Dr. Atkins saying something like that...

Chillin' out and ribeyes? Yumm!! I think we'll have steak tonight too. Couldn't decide until now! :D

Congratulations on your loss!!

I'm really rooting for you I hope you will be able to get into the 100's soon.... that'll make the eggs taste better i bet!

susan41 10-29-2013 06:03 PM

I actually think it has a lot to do with it, there are times that I have a diet coke with my morning coffee, 1-2 during the day and then again with cocktails, rum. So today's blah was most assuredly the caffeine.

susan41 10-30-2013 08:03 AM

Still at 202 this morning and that's ok! It's not 205 or 06 like previous bounces.
M&E is really being good to me in the way I feel, and it's easy. So gong to continue on for a few more days, and see what happens.

The control of LC woe and that includes M&E fast is amazingly clear to me this morning. If you had told me in July that I could possibly make it thru 3 days without crap processed food diet cokes or dairy I would have laughed.

I think part of why I'm not seeing a bigger drop while doing this M&E thing is because I'm not getting my water in that I planned. So am going to be more mindful of that the next 2-3 days.

snowangel9 10-30-2013 11:19 AM

Good attitude! I'll bet, hope, wish and pray, (gotta cover all the bases!) you get a whoosh tomorrow! I totally get that, if you would have told me I could give up diet coke, I'd laughed my *ss off!! But I did! Now, you have to decide if you want to really go back..

susan41 10-31-2013 08:36 AM

Thanks snowangel!

No whoosh this morning but I am at 201. So it's working! With zero hunger.
Feeling a little crappy this morning so in addition to my coffee I just made a cup of hot chicken broth. Hoping that will perk me up.

Gonna keep going!

snowangel9 10-31-2013 11:18 AM

:clap::jumpjoy: :up:

That's awesome! SO happy it's working for you! May not be a whoosh, but hey it's down! You are almost out of the two's!! Yea!!!

trishthedish 10-31-2013 02:46 PM

I'm glad you found something that is working for you!!:high5:

Josh1234 10-31-2013 04:06 PM

For what it is worth, my own experience has been that my body often needs a few weeks to adjust to its new weight and then I start to drop more pounds. In my case every 2-3 weeks of weight loss seems to require 2-3 weeks of stall. That's just my experience. OTOH, I might be nearing my optimal weight, so the next stall may last the rest of my life. :-)

domesticbliss 10-31-2013 09:28 PM

Congrats on the weight loss, I'm thinking about doing this as a jumpstart to get the carbs out of my system...
I wouldn't consider HWC dairy, because the serving size is so small and the fat content is so high, but that's just me...
Seriously consider cutting out alcohol, that can cause fluid retention, so when you end your E&M fast you might notice better losses without alcohol...
I am Hypothyroid and ALWAYS tired, something that has worked for me incredibly, I mean allowed me to exercise pretty intensely is taking D-Ribose. You can mix it with a drink if you get the powder, get chewable versions, or pills, after I get about a week of it in my system I am good to go, I'll never be without this!
Good luck!

susan41 11-01-2013 07:02 AM

201 again this morning, and still going on M&E. Although I had a slight "cheat" on M&E yesterday at lunch, I had a small house salad with a chopped steak I ordered while out with my honey for lunch at this really neat place we went to. Was very dark greens and I passed the tomato wedge up. And used only half the ranch they served.

Is that a cheat? Lol.

I had a very long night at work and passed on the cocktails after mainly because I really want to stay on track and secondly because I was just too danged tired and hungry, came home and made 2 fried eggs with bacon and collapsed. I'm glad Halloween in the bar business is over.

I am so thankful for all y'all who are supporting me on this thread. I am going to keep at it til I reach the 199-190 range!

snowangel9 11-01-2013 11:09 AM

That's funny, a small salad being a cheat. Hmm.. Glad to hear you're still 'on it'. You just never know what will happen tomorrow... Keep up the good work and the good attitude! :)

susan41 11-02-2013 08:17 AM

200.4 this morning! Getting closer!

Did partake of 2 rum and diet cokes last night, so I guess I need to re evaluate how sustainable a fast is for me. It's been 7 days and the food isn't an issue at all, meat and eggs are the majority of my LC woe anyways. It's the side items, like the alcohol and diet sodas and cheese.

I think I will keep at it until I see 199 and then re incorporate cheeses and see if I stop losing.
