help im struggling tonight

I'm not sure why but I'm having horrible cravings tonight. I'm struggling not to have a cookie binge. Any suggestions or help? I've been kinda down lately cause the scale has been tortureing me.

do you have any dill pickles or green olives? Those usually help my cravings, especially late at night.

If not, go for a cookie, eat it very slowly, make it last, enjoy it! I stopped my binging by not depriving myself and enjoying ONE cookie(it helps too if someone can keep them hidden from you :)

another trick I learned is to brush and floss my teeth. With a minty fresh mouth, and the work you just put into it, you won't want that cookie!

Struggling tonight

Saurkraut, dill pickles, green olives. rye krsip - they all ususally help me stave off looking for cookies. For me, the sour things seem to satisfy my craving for something sweet. Have no idea why it works but for me it does. Good Luck

Thank you very much for the ideas.

I feel for you. been there definitely.

sugar free jello is my go to when I am wanting to just snack at night.
I eat it with whipped cream.

I eat the whole thing slowly. It got me thru countless nights of having to fight late night snacking. hang in there. best one can do :)

Hey Trigger, I just found a GREAT jello recipe. You make a crust out of crushed pecans, butter and a sweetener, then bake to brown in a 9X9 pan. Then pour a jello, raspberry and cream cheese mixture on top of it, and let it set. Sprinkle with raspberries and roasted pecans. Cut into squares. It's YUMMY and each square is only 2.5 net carbs.

whipped cream, with a little splenda and SF flavored syrup. I will whip until it is nice and thick and yummy. Sometimes I even put it in the freezer for 30 minutes! YUM!

Eating enough fat... not too much but enough to not have cravings helps me a lot. Sometimes I will brush some coconut oil on my upper side gums. The best bet is to not have any in the house to tempt yourself with :D

Sometimes I play a Jedi mind trick on myself. I will look at the clock and tell myself if I still want a cookie in ten minutes, I can have it. But I have to wait ten minutes. MOST of the time, I forget about it during those ten minutes. Other times I make it to ten and then tell myself if I REALLY still want it, I can have it in five more minutes.

Cravings usually come and go quickly, so this method buys me time to let it pass.

Sometimes I take a couple handfuls of pork rinds, put them in a baggie, add lots of cinnamon and splenda or Truvia, shake it and it satisfies my need for flavor, crunch and sweet.
Or I mix about an inch cream cheese with cocoa, vanilla, any sweetener and sprinkle on some ground flax seed. Sometimes I will add in chia.
Good recipes on here for chia seed pudding.
I just discovered that I do not tolerate sorbital very well. Had 2 Mayfield sugar free chocolate popsicles last night. Really good. Lets just say I did not make it to the bathroom in time and I took off running. TMI, I know! :o

Sometimes if I'm craving food, I'm really actually thirsty, but drinking plain water only helps half of it, so having a lightly sweetened beverage might be a good go to. You'll get more hydrated which might help with the food craving , and you get a nice light sweet taste which would satisfy the sweet tooth.

Or you could go make some cream cheese clouds. That's a fat sweet bomb and you can't eat many of them before you have to stop from fat overdose!

I am going to try this. Thanks:)

I try to always save a few carbs and calories for a late night snack. I get anxiety if I don't.
