I'm back after waaay too long
I've been gone since 2009 and see a few familiar "faces", but wasn't all that gabby so most probably don't remember me.

I started on Atkins in 2008 and switched to a hybrid BMR/EFGT that worked great for me. By July 2009 I had gone from 212 lbs to 158, just shy of my 150 goal. I felt great and bought some new clothes.

Hubby was doing LC with me and since he's the "chef" in the household it worked great. But then he got tired of it and started buying and cooking a lot of non-LC stuff. He'd get a little irritated if I didn't want to eat what he had prepared. I did okay for awhile and then I made a bad mistake (for me) and started having some wine in the evening, which reduced my willpower. So, rather than stop myself at the meat entree, I started indulging in the roasted potatoes and other forbidden "fruits" until I just wandered away.

So, 3 days ago I said enough is enough and decided to get back to it. I got back up to 204 and now I have a gut which I never had before (always carried my weight behind me where I couldn't see it :lol: ).

I recalculated my BMR, my old info is still out on ******, and I'm back to logging in my food. Since Sept 28th, I've dropped 3.5 lbs! :jumpjoy:

Anyway, wanted to say HI. I'll be around for a long while as I get my eating back into line. And, look forward to contributing too.

:welcome: back! :shake: I like What BecBelle said... I too am a 'repeat' offender! (I love that!) I've around here off and on almost since the beginning. No shame in getting a grip and coming back. :D

I am a repeat offender as well! I have joined, and started losing weight, then stopped. And, then started again...then stopped. And, now I am determined that I will be slimmer by the time my son crosses the stage in June. I just started again a few weeks ago, and am already down a good amount. I have never really lost a TON of weight before, but I never stuck with it long enough. I am excited to break bad habits and get on with some good ones :) We can all support each other!

In the same boat here...haven't been on here in at least 3 years. My story sounds similar to yours...lost weight but husband gets frustrated when I'm watching what I eat...and I gave in too much and regained the weight I lost. However, he just weighed himself a week ago and has decided to finally join my diet with me. We both started yesterday. Though I was never a heavy poster here, there are a lot of new faces!

Welcome back to you and all the rejoiners ... I also am a repeat offender.

Lost 60 lbs in 08 and gained back only 20 of it thank goodness. So now it's back on the road to my health. I think the losing cycle and mindset is different for me this time... I'm really not in a hurry, I want to be totally in tune with my body that I've ignored and was bad to for years this time. If I lose weight, awesome!

The really freeing part is that I know that LC works, for me. And I know that if I have a prepared plan of action each day that I will succeed to a healthier me.

The new information that's out is mine to discover as I waddle thru each day and I'm enjoying the research to find the little changes that work for me.

Wine did me in too, muttsmom.
After not drinking for several years, I started again (gradually at first) and that is really when my most recent gaining spree started. The good news is that since my late March start, I am down two sizes and 20 pounds. Let's learn the lessons of the past, but move forward.

Still doing fine food wise. Looking forward to the weekend. Hubby's accepted I'm in this for the long haul I think but doesn't appear with me again.

Me too! Started here in August of 2008 and stayed on for a few years. But I deviated after I took up triathlon and found it difficult to fuel and train on low carb. Needless to say, despite intense exercise, I'm back up several pounds! I need to get back to logging and blogging, because that is what helps me the most.

I feel like carbs are such a strong drug that keep calling us.

Welcome back! I'm a repeat offender also! Birthday is coming soon and really making me re-evaluate my health. Also in beginning stages of the "change" and experiencing hot flashes. LC makes me cold so I said "Hey....I can kill two birds with one stone"! LOL

Seriously though, I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I have tried so many diets it is pathetic. LC is the only plan that I had actual success without taking some pill to kill my appetite. In 2005 I lost 62 lbs. Went off plan and gained all but 10 lbs. back. Today begins week 2 and I have already lost 8 lbs.! Woohoo! If that doesn't make me want to stay on track nothing will!

Hang in there and lets continue this journey together!

So glad you are back! So am I! Looks like we are in great company. I have been off and on for years, lost 60 lbs 10 years ago, kept it off a few years. Quit smoking in 2005 then gained all of the 60 lbs back. I turn 60 next month, and have decided that NOW is the time to take it back off (and then some more). I need to lose 100 lbs. Just am recovering from surgery for breast cancer and during my research started looking into the Ketogenic diet and how beneficial it is for cancer. So I have done low carb for the past couple of months and feel so much better. It is time to get committed and stay that way.
So happy to meet you and may all of us have the strength to stay the course and become the person we know we can be.

I too am guilty of reoffending again and again. It's not wine that gets me but a poor mindset. I start negative thoughts and what I can't have and next thing I'm diving into a plate of French fries! I'm trying to view food as fuel and it's just as easy to fill up on low carb as high carb foods. My body is telling me it's time to get serious and do this woe for life not just a sprint. I wish all of you luck and will be needing your expertise probably every day!
