NSV !!! I am "in the zone"

Today I have to work, and my fiance brought me lunch. He knows I am on a LC WOE , however, to his credit he works out of town mon-fri so he doesn't see me eat or have much (if anything) to do with my grocery shopping. Additionally, this is probably the only time in the 2yrs I have worked here that he has brought me lunch when I have to pick up an occassional Saturday. ( I work in a Hospital, on an OutPatient Unit).

His choice for my lunch was a Foot long Sub on wheat (turkey/ham/roast beef with provolone cheese..Mayo..Tomato..& Lettuce) with a fountain Pepsi & a bag of Salt & VinagerBaked days... Bless his heart, he tried lol

He texts me to go down and meet him that he had a "surprise" for me, so I bounced down to the main area and and gladly accepted this thoughtful lunch, and kissed his sweet face for his kindness and went back to my unit...

Upon reaching the Nurses station... I promptly handed over my chips and my fountain drink to a co-worker... I opened the foot long sub, I had packed for a salad for lunch... picked off the deli meat & cheese added to my salad, and tossed the foot long wheat hoagie roll into the garbage.

I felt no guilt, I am pretty damned happy with myself!!!!

NSV me for, For Sure!!!!!

Yep, good for him for trying...he will learn or maybe not...haha. I have been eating this way for almost 3 years and my husband still doesn't get my oversimplifed way of explaining it to him...I always say sugar free not fat free...that way he has some latitude...he knows I don't eat bread so that part is easy...God bless them all...they will get it some day.

When Life hands you lemons, make Lemon Cream Cheese Clouds.

WTG on tossing the carbs. I intend to do exactly as you did at this Sunday's sub and chips Football gathering.

It amazes me sometimes how people who KNOW I don't eat carby foods continue to offer me cereal, bread, pasta or pancakes etc.
I don't bother telling them yet again that I don't eat that stuff, I just decline.

Aw, it's the thought that counts right! If it were me, I'd go home after work and give the other half a big hug and thank you and just mention that you'd appreciate a salad if the mood strikes him again.

That was so sweet of him, and I think you handled it beautifully.

Husband is equally clueless. He considerately picks steakhouses or wing joints when it's his turn to choose the restaurant, but then offers me a Reese's peanut butter cup.

Just wanted to say when I saw "in the zone" I totally thought of Randall in "Monsters Inc" ("I'm in the zone today, SULLIVAN") and burst out laughing.

WTG Spunki! I think you handled that just right! Like you said, bless his heart, he tried! And for low calorie, he'd even done better! Nice of him to think about you. Slaving away at the hospital!
