I Desire To Be Fit and Trim More Than...

I desire to be fit more than I desire to eat anything that only tastes good as long ad the food is in my mouth.

I desire to be slim and find satisfaction in getting there more than I find satisfaction in the bottom of a bag of chips.

I desire to be my best self rather than settle for something less than my best.

I desire freedom from the pull of food more than the fleeting, cheap, hollow comfort it offers.

Feel free to add your own...

I desire my skin to be free of the horrible eczema that plagues me when I eat high carb food.

I desire to not have to do contortions to wipe my own butt. TMI?

I desire to look in my clothes closet and know EVERYthing in there fits me perfectly and looks great, instead of having a closet full of clothes and NOTHING fits properly.

I desire to once again be able to peddle over the mountain behind the valley where my mother in law lives and only have to stop once -- to admire the view.

I desire to be a fun, active mom to my kids and not the fat lady that sits on the bench at the playground yelling "c'mon it's time to go."

Myself and my best friend are both 60 next year, and may even have a joint party. She's as slim as a wand (naturally) & I'm determined NOT to be the 'fat one'! If I don't look fabulous by then, then I only have myself to blame. (We may be nearly 60 but we're 18 in our heads, & certainly don't want to look like elderly ladies.) So 'slim at 60' is a very real desire for me!

I was so upset when AARP had the nerve to want me to join and then I received this other old age card in the mail........ I never applied for..... Its like the world tries to push the fact that you are old right in your face...

OMG tell me about it (like my mum telling me I should 'dress my age', lol)! I've always dyed my hair auburn, but a few years ago I said to the hairdresser, "Give me brightest red you've got in the shop", so they did, and I still have it! This is going to be one 60-year old who is NOT going to blend in with the furniture........

I'm trying so hard to have your attitude especially turning 60 next year! I'm the one that wants to blend into the furniture and act my age. I'm always asking my daughter am I to old to wear ths?
I agree, I don't feel 60 (nearly) until I look in the mirror and sometimes it's a shock that I'm not 18 anymore.
As soon as I turned 55 I started getting mail from AARP, funeral homes and hearing aid companies!
I'm determined to be fit at 60!

Oh, please be brave and try something daring! You'll feel so great! We have a wonderful over-50s ambassador in the UK called Carol Vorderman, who is always urging us to dress to look as best we can, and NOT for our age. I would put a link to her fashion tips page but I've already unwittingly fallen foul of 'LCF Security' so instead I've printed them out and saved them as a JPG in my Photos. (Carol is a lucky lady - as well as looking fabulous, she's as smart as paint and her pilot boyfriend has just taught her how to fly! However, when she first came on TV, she was a dowdy frump and looks better now that she ever did then. Anyone can improve their image!)

I too get all the 'oldie' ads on Facebook, but I just ignore them and laugh! What I'm interested in is this - when you say to your daughter "am I too old to wear this?", what does she say?

Ladies - we desire to be SLIM AT 60 - and we will be!
