Am I doing something. Wrong without realizing?

My clothes keep getting looser. Way looser. As in I can't wear 90% of the anymore... I got into some shorts I have never been able to wear for the first time today. I eat only legal foods. Rarely a processed item crosses the threshold of my home much my lips. Still the scale seems stuck. I tend to obsess and I know better. I weighed on weds but couldn't help but check again as I appeared to have lost alot in the last few days, hence fitting into new clothes....

I was .3 kilos HEAVIER

Could be I left my purse on or that I was wearing heavier clothes. Could be the food in my stomach

Yet it leaves me wondering if my carbs are creeping without my knowlege. I do Bpc in the morning, a salad or left over for luch and a decent meal with veggies and protein in the early evening ... I do use a generous amount of butter Ecco and a fair amount of hwc in my coffee or a sauce. Also I sprinkle cheese but not more than an ounce or so daily. I thought I was on track... My portions are pretty small my snacks healthy and infrequent...

I don't get it.

I have about 10 lbs left to lose to get to goal but my bmi is 21.8 is it possible that I've hit my limits?

When it doubt, track your food. Every last bite of it. Knowledge is power and calories do count (if your body doesn't need to dip into your fat stores because your food intake is maintaining your body's needs, it won't!)

If you are losing inches you are losing fat. That is good. Losing fat should be your goal.

The scale does not show fat loss, just total weight. It fluctuates & goes up & down for various reasons. I would not worry about it at all since you are losing inches.

Tru that!!!

To both ppl :)

You're getting smaller and losing fat. Who cares what the scale says? :)

Erin, just wanted to say that I'm in the same boat. I've been strictly low carb for a little over two months now. My clothes are much looser, I've lost a few inches here and there, but the scale says I've only lost about eight pounds since June. Sometimes it's frustrating because I have a lot of weight to lose. So, sometimes I stand in front of the mirror and pull at my waistband just to visualize how loose my pants are all becoming. What I'm doing must be working.

Like other people have said, if you're losing inches, then you are doing things right. So, keep up the good work.

Losing inches is better than losing "weight". Carry on....

I hear you! I KNOW I am shrinking, my clothes are bigger totally! Yet the scales are hardly moving. I fear I will be down to small size clothes and still weigh this much :/ I posted indeed about a 400g gain a few weeks ago, got some great replies! ...I haven't weighed since :( couldn't stand the disappointment.

Don't concentrate on the numbers of the scale. If your clothes are loose and you are able to wear things that were tight before that is the indication that your body shape is changing. We cannot expect to see losses everyday. I weigh every morning and I stay the same for a few days and then I loose a pound or two. I have been staying on course only eating healthy fresh foods have not had any processed foods so I know that the weight will come down when my body decides to release it. The clothes that I bought at the beginning of summer are way too big on me so now I am wearing clothes that fit me 5 years ago That is a great feeling and I know that I am doing something right.

Thanks all! I'm just losing patience with myself I guess.. I know it won't be overnight and shouldn't be... Still positive reinforcement is nice... Going to the beach with a part time swimsuit model today... Sigh.

Do a search for "why the scales lie" very good article and explains what's probably happening to you.

Isn't it amazing how we can let that one little piece of data bug us so much?
You're eating well. You're shrinking right out of your wardrobe. And still there's a nagging doubt because of what the scale says.

Yes, take a look at your final goal and see if it still seems to be the correct, healthy weight for you. Body fat composition, bloodwork, and examining how you feel are good ways to assess this.

Yes, examine your food choices to make sure you're staying on a good course. I'm of the opinion that we should do that whether we're losing or not--- not to torture ourselves with doubt, but to keep mindful about what we allow and how it works for us.

I'll take an inch over a pound any day. I want to lose excess fat, and if my body composition changes along the way, the number I have in my head about what I should weigh won't be the right number anymore. I want to look and feel well, and I want to wear cute clothes and I want to be healthy.
The scale is just gonna have to find someone else to mess with, because I'm not gonna let it get to me.

Signed,
Slow Loser who can feel herself getting stronger and healthier every day.

Just my two cents, as a slow loser myself, as much as I'd like the scales to move quicker I would take looking smaller to a lower number any day.

Losing fat is better than losing scale weight. I strongly suggest you measure yourself regularly, or keep using your clothes as a tool.
