protein powder+ CO+coffee is....

my new favourite breakfast :) ( my "healthier" version of a latte I guess)
I use RAW protein powder ( cacao kiss) :dunno: which does have a probiotic component as well
However
in the middle of enjoying my morning drink it suddenly occurred to me...

"Am I destroying the nutritional benefits of my expensive, lovely, protein powder by mixing it with hot coffee?"

Anyone?:dunno:

Probably altering the proteins to some degree, in that they typically "cost" more calories to break down, and they may not "cost" quite as many. However, the amino acids are still there. I wouldn't sweat it. Enjoy!

Don't see how. People cook with it all the time. The only thing you might be losing is the probiotic. Most don't do heat well.. Can you get the protein powder without the probiotic? Maybe take that separately? Sounds good though, chocolate mocha.. :)

Heating protein powder and altering proteins is a myth. Sure it denatures it but your body will still absorb the same amino acids that it would from non-heated protein powder. Just think of an egg: has a biological value (protein utilization measurement) of 100, and we cook them all the time. The heat changes the shapes of the protein molecules but the amino acids are still there.

Sorry for the science rant...
