Totally proud and finally home

So after 12 hours on the road home from Kansas I sit here and am reflecting on my food choices over the last 4 days..

Day one my traveling partner stopped at the czech bakery in west, tx and got kolaches... I got one. Ate the sausage out of it. Victory! That was a challenge for sure. That night we had stuff from my cooler that was all low carb.

Day two, by passed all the carbs in the hotel lobby for breakfast and had grilled chicken, avocado, and salad at Mexican food place. Victory again. Left over that and cooler stuff for dinner.

Day three, bunless cheese burger with bacon from Braums. Delish, watched everyone else have big waffle cones full of ice cream for dessert. Dinner had ribeye and wedge with blue cheese.. Victory yet again!

This morning we stopped at mcd. Ugh. Hated that place even with high carb diet. Got 2 sausage egg and cheese biscuit, tossed the biscuits. Cooler stuff the rest of the afternoon. Got home, left over slice of brisket with my new Kerry gold slathered on it.

I mentioned before that my travel companion was aware of my LC changes and supportive, but she doesn't do it herself. So watching her indulge in my used to be food was tough. But....

I did it!

Haven't weighed since tues morning, sorta anxious to weigh in the morning and see what's what.

Thanks for listening, I'm just really happy with myself for not giving up and sticking to plan.

You did great! It gets easier now that you know that there is food out there you can eat and it sounds like you really did it right by packing your cooler. Smart lady!

WTG!! Who said that you cannot adapt under any situation A little planning and will power is all it takes. I will have a challenge in about 4 wks. when I go to China, I am already preparing myself mentally as to what I can eat there. Breakfast will be no problem, but lunch and supper will be a challenge. Will have to doggy bag from the breakfast menu at the Hotel. LOL

Wow...wonderful! We're leaving for Florida in 2 weeks...and driving this time (2 days of sightseeing on the way) and it's my first driving trip since starting back on low carb in January. Think I'll tape your post to the dashboard as inspiration!

Congratulations!

Oh my Jesus, that was tough, anyone that's ever known/visited West Tx has had one of those things, yeast bun/roll baked with a darlin piece of sausage or sweet filling inside(think peach/blackberry/apple).

If there's never another LC test in my journey that compares to that. I got this. Totally. :)
