Day 11 and VERY tired in the P.M.

So its Day 11 and I was hoping by now I wouldn't have the afternoon slump. But here I am, with the (what feels like inevitable) slump.

Breakfast = 1/2 c cottage cheese, 2 eggs & 1t coconut oil

Lunch = skinless/boneless chicken breast, 2 cups romaine, 1/8c black olives, 1/2 avocado & homemade cesar dressing

Snack = 3 x turkey rollups (with Deli turkey and cream cheese)

I have also been sipping on a protein shake by Rainbow Light made with Almond Milk. I didn't finish becuase I am full.

I don't understand why I could crawl under my desk and go to sleep. I'm very aggravated!

Two thoughts. First, it sounds like you are eating a lot of protein. High protein can cause insulin release and cause some of the same effects as carbs. Two, if you haven't done so, have a full thyroid panel done (at minimum, TSH, free T3, free T4 and anti-TPO).

How much water are you drinking? In the first few weeks I found I was fine as long as I was drinking LOADS of water, well over the 2L they suggest. If I was feeling tired, I would just go get another glass of water. I also think that carb flu can draaaaaag on subtlety for the first few weeks for some people. But when you come out the other side you do feel great! Also, how much fat are you eating? I've found my body is actually needing fats to give it energy now. Your lunch sounded kind of lean ( I'm not eating olives or avocado).

Yes on the protein intake. Are you getting enough fat?
And are you getting enough salt and potassium?

It's only Day 11. I truly felt it took me a good month til things felt better. I would have great days, full of energy, and then the next would feel zapped.

I also found I couldn't do cottage cheese, don't know why, but it spikes my blood sugar. I tend to eat coffee/3T HWC, 3 eggs, 1T butter for my breakfast. That holds me much better. I prefer the butter in the AM so I don't get any tummy distress from MCT oil which I'll use in the evening with salad dressing.
