Fogo De Chau

I will be going to Fogo De Chau (Brazilian Steakhouse) for dinner on Monday and I'm really excited to try it out! I looked at what they offer and will be indulging in the salad bar and all kinds of their meats, though it looks like I'll skip the sides. Has anyone been there or have any knowledge of their menu & preparation? I want to be aware of any "hidden" carbs that go into their food. For example, they have parmesan encrusted pork loin, but I don't know if it's crusted with parmesan cheese or parmesan bread crumbs...

Also, is there anything particular, a favorite dish, that I absolutely must try??

I have been there and the meats are off the chain. The salad bar is something short of amazing and you could put together a full meal just from that. So if you go to the salad bar first pace yourself or you won't have room for the meat selections. I remember enjoying the beef selections, lamb, and chicken prepared different ways. Also stay away from the little rolls on the table as they are addictive. I was not lowcarbing at the time but I can see where it could be a challenge if you add on the sides. Again pace yourself and enjoy.

Some places marinate their chicken, so I usually ask. Also, if one meat you really like comes around, get a larger serving. It may not come back for a while.

You are going to love this restaurant -- it is a low carb dieters dream. The salad bar is absolutely amazing-- just full of anything and everything you could ever want. Beware the dessert menu -- that is the only thing that could trip you up. The steaks are also fabulous and I am not a steak lover per se. Your best bet is to stick with the grilled steaks and meats as most of them don't use a sugar-laden marinade.

Love it! Like PP said, it is a low-carber's playground. We have several brazilian steakhouses here in Chicago but Fogo was the very first one I ever visited. Just don't forget to turn your disk over from green (which means more meat) to red (which means stop). You are gonna love it and the salad bar is great also, so many selections to choose from. My favorite is the lamb chops; perfect!:yummy::yummy:

The marinades are on the outsides of the meats anyway. I wouldn't sweat it .. There are tons to choose from. You will be fine!

I was there a few weeks ago! It's the bomb. Love that salad bar and the house steak. All the steak. My indulgence is usually a glass of cab. Mmmm . . .

Now I know where my next dinner out will be. The last one was a total bust, at Mr. BBQ in Brooklyn Center. AVOID like the plague
