Natural peanut butter

Why does natural peanut butter with sugar have the same carbs as the natural peanut butter that has no sugar?

What brands... my best guess there is a sweetner in one that is sugar by another name, honey, molasses ,agave...the list goes on...as long as it is not hfcs some will lable it as natural because they consider sugar natural...hence all the products that are coming out with sugar again in place of hfcs.

What does 'natural' mean? If they put in 100% organic honey, harvested by peasant ladies in a rural country town that has never heard of modern anything, and made by bees that only visit native flowers on pristine hillsides, it's still sugar. Natural sugar, but still sugar. And sugar has carbs.

Look at the ingredients list and buy peanut butter that has only peanuts & salt. It took me a little bit to get used to the unsweetened flavor but now I prefer it hands down.

Could it be the GIGANTIC loophole in food labelling that exists in America? If a food has less than .5 grams per serving, up to .4, they are allowed to put it as 0. That might be it, or it might be sugar going by another name on the label. Either way, my policy is peanuts + oil + food processor. I haven't bought a jar of PB in years.

The smuckers has no sugar only peanuts and salt. But the skippy natural has sugar and they both have the same carbs per serving.
