I am going to eat it (I think?)

Went to the Farmers Market today and saw these gorgeous fresh peaches. I read not long ago that the carb count was 12 minus 2 fiber for one. I do suppose after being faithful with no cheats in 9 1/2 years if I eat one it won't be a bad thing. So I bought 4, two for DH and two for me. I am so funny. I know they are in the kitchen but I am struggling to eat it. I do plan on only eating one. Still it feels so naughty.

Go for it!

Fruit in season is delicious. I often have all fruit days when I stock up on lots of different fruit during the summer.

You've done Atkins for 9 years and the diet has rungs for a season - so you can enjoy peaches in season!

I know it in my head but I will say I have no desire to eat an apple, grapes or oranges. Way to high in natural sugars for my way of life.

Enjoy - but guilt-free, please.

I don't see how a peach would be a cheat? I suppose it depends on what plan you follow. I never followed a plan that calls for zero fruit.

I do eat berries but never realized that fresh peaches are similar in carbs to cantaloup which I have eaten too.

I agree that there shouldn't be guilt associated with food.

I would either eat it or throw it away. No need to fret over peaches.

You can eat half...
I have recently realized that it is k to eat fruit or other similar items that I normally do not consume. I would not have toast, but berries and cream will not kill me!

I had some fresh peaches chopped up the other sunday and didn't seem to hurt me any. I eat strawberries too and occasionaly blueberries If I can find them fresh. I'm planning on chopping up some peaches and strawberries tonight for dessert for my family. They'll have em over ice cream. Not me though Lol

That is what I would do even as a newbie following Protein Power. I would have half an apple for a serving with a meal. I also ate half a grapefruit and added peach to protein shakes.

I did not eat bananas though & still don't. Banana extract is a wonderful thing.

Bananas and grapes will always be out for me. But, raspberries...I would not eat a cup, but a few would be ok.

You have overcome so much and seem stable in your diet so if peaches are causing you a problem now I would just throw them out.

For a while I couldn't keep cheese in the house because I would think about it and want to eat it and would keep trying to add it to all of my meals. I later added back cheese with no problem.

Not a problem I do plan on cutting one in half later tonight. Might sweeten some cream and pour it over it. I am looking forward to it. I just find with my history that venturing past what I usually eat causes me anxiety. But I feel this will be fun. Hugs everyone

I am the same. For so LNG I was super strict with my food. But, I have ten years under my belt and find I am able to handle foods that were once impossible.

I sometimes cut up a yummy peach or nectarine into full fat yougurt.
I eat just a few ounces a few times a week. That way I get to enjoy all the yummy flavor, just spread out.

Skeeter- you are my twin in stature. I hope that I can have the same results. Would you be willing to share how long it took you to lose the weight and your age?

I probably weigh more than you now looking at your pic. I weigh about 120 right now. I am 54 and I find I am ok with my weight. Took me about 6 months staying close to induction the whole time. But that is how I roll

Nope, I am 135- 139 (depending), 53 years old. Just seemed to get discouraged too often, so it is nice to see someone with the same vertical challenge and age succeed.

I wish so much I were taller. I have a friend that looks like a stick and she weighs 139 but she is 5'10. Totally NOT fair for those of us who are under tall. It takes dedication and plain ole stubborn persistence. Recently I was at a party and my daughter sat down beside me with a huge piece of carrot cake and she said, I know this probably bugs you cause this is your favorite cake. I looked at her and honestly said, it doesn't really, it isn't worth it to me. I meant it too. After over 9 years, I no longer have the desire to that high carb food.

To come back to this post. I ate half a peach, cut it up fairly small and stirred it into a small scoop of Carb Smart Vanilla ice cream. I always loved peach ice cream. I also ate the skin separately. I then went further and squirted a bit of hwc from my isi cream whipper that I always have filled (with sweetened with s/f vanilla coffee syrup). I loved it! It wasn't a huge amount but just enough to satisfy my desire. My DH ate the other half of the peach.
