LC foods question

Just wondering if anyone here has tried the LC Foods brand products...I am getting a netrition order together and was going to order a few...they are so expensive I want to make sure they are worth the money. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's not much help, but every time I've thought about ordering, I've stopped, because I felt like I still had to add too many ingredients to justify that they're a mix. On the flip side, looking at some of the from-scratch recipes, they may be very helpful in terms of not having to purchase a ton of different items just to use tiny amounts. They had a pretty active facebook page, you might want to check it out. Good luck, hopefully there will be some helpful responses!

ncgirl, I know what you mean...they are crazy expensive and then to have to add in all the other ingredients, I can't justify getting them unless they are getting rave reviews...I also have a tendency to stock up my pantry with lc items and then go on a binge and not use the items... Thanks for your thoughts!

Here is my honest assessment based on experience:

The prices are a bit higher than many people can legitimately afford for the end result. I really think a more fair price point for most of the products should be $4.95. I am hoping with distribution or expansion, the prices will drop to be more competitive with other gluten-free items on the market.

The amount of ingredients still necessary to make the mix ends up being spendy and somewhat labor intensive. Heavy white cream is at a premium these days, as an example.

There is an aftertaste from the sweeteners that I've noticed. I don't like the baking mixes with sweeteners, as a result. (I am a supertaster and not a huge fan of the chicory, monk fruit, luo han guo and stevia)

I can't do gluten, and a few of the mixes contain gluten.

That said, my favorites are the Breading and Crusting mix and the Thickener, and I'd recommend those any day of the week. They're reliable, work fabulously, and they have a legitimate place in most low-carb pantries.

I've lost 131 pounds

My rinky dink blog for thinky thoughts and things of absolutely no consequence.

I am really picky and I actually like almost everything I have tried from them. I love their fruit preserves. I also really like their confectionary powder and and chocolate frosting. I didn't really care for the cereal I bought, but I haven't liked any low carb cereal I have tried yet. I did buy several bake mixes, but I haven't tried them yet. I know that they are pricey, but I like them.
