I'm on day 1!

hi there;
After lurking for a few weeks, and a carb heavy holiday; I got back last night and joined! eeek!
First day low carb today:
Breakfast: omelette: 2 eggs and 3 egg whites and green beans 1/2 cup black coffee
Snack: walnuts ( around 8)
Lunch: tuna salad with blue cheese dressing and cheese: slim-a-soup ( 2 carbs)

this afternoon I am planning on cooking a dinner of thai green chicken curry ( no rice for me)

I will probably snack on some chicken and lots of water.

I am going to have a protein shake ( whey- 100%) if I go to the gym this evening.
How am I doing?
anyone got any suggestions for me?

The curry sounds good!

Are you counting calories too, or just watching carbs? For me, I do both. Although with the LCHF I take in a few more calories than I did when I was just watching calories.

Congrats! You'll do great! Just a note: you'll go into ketosis much faster and lose more weight if you skip the nuts for a few weeks. The rest of it looks fine. What plan are you using?

Just want to suggest that you keep a journal of what you eat and the carbs you are consuming. I've done so many stops and starts because I got frustrated I wasn't losing. Well, I decided to start keeping a journal. Amazing! Now I'm losing just over a pound a week and feel like I can do this for life.

It's a great WOE!!!

Hello! Welcome welcome! I love seeing first day folks. It's pretty exciting.

My thoughts: Eat the entire egg. It's pretty ovarytastical.

Also, I am a huge fan of vegetables. I think greens are amazing, and I'd even consider adding some spinach and other sundry veggies to that protein shake, minimally.

Make the journey about progress and not perfection. I used to be so austere that when I finally caved to that first bite of [whatever] I ended up rolling around in it and getting it in my cleavage for months on end (instead of maybe taking one bite and counting it as part of my long-term plan--using it, in fact, as part of my knowledge about myself and what I should and should not incorporate). This time around, I built occasional, off-plan bites of this and that into my plans and I haven't regretted it one bit. After a year on LC (at the end of this month) I have to say I wouldn't have stuck with it if I was as rigid and perfectionist and as unforgiving as I'd been in the past.

Just do your best, celebrate your success, chart your losses, and know this is a journey for life. Mini maintenance periods happen and they're all a wonderful learning experience.
