I don't drink that much but when I do its vodka and club soda for me. It doesn't affect my weight lose at all as long as after a few I can remember not to eat the chips and other goodies that people bring out later in the night!

I will have a few drinks of vodka and diet Dr Pepper a week but now I'm considering stopping all together again. It slows my weight loss on the days I do drink.

When I drink, it is either red wine or vodka. I mix vodka with water and add SF Mio-type drops. I even take them in my purse when I go out. I order vodka and water and add the drops right to the drink. The red or clear ones are usually best for this, as you can get some strange looks from the server when you turn your drink bright blue or purple!

I drink it. I get the non flavored as they have sugar, and not ones distilled with wheat like Absolut.
If you don't have a drinking problem, can stop at a couple, and they don't screw up your eating, I say go for it.

Because given the above, the only con is that it temporarily pauses fat burning. It does not kick you out of ketosis (unless you were using sugary mixer )
Alcohol gets burned first.
Within a couple hours, the alcohol is burned off and you get to press play on fat burning once again.
I had 2 drinks last night . I was down today.

I second what Natalia wrote. I will add this, if you have been low-carbing a while your tolerance for liquor is lower meaning you get drunker faster. I was reminded of this small detail at a birthday party last week. I consumed the amount of Vodka, spaced out over a period of time as I always had, BLC, then WHAM!!!! The liquor hit me like a ton of bricks and I ended the night literally hugging the porcelain God with my head hanging in it

Listen to the advice above. I have such low tolerance now that I really can't handle more than one or two drinks. It's like instant drunkenness and I notice my stomach seems like it can get upset very easily with liquor now when compared to my pre-LC days.

Other than that, the advice of others regarding mixers etc. is accurate and a great guide.

Ditto on the low tolerance. I used to drink red wine like it was going out of style. Now I can't hardly get one glass down. I don't really like that, though.

But YES on the vodka. I mix it with Crystal Light (they have pomtini, appletini, mango) and really enjoy it. Same thing with going out. The liquid bottles are so small you can carry them in your purse.

If I did it every night I would not lose weight, though.

I like wine. I don't really drink stronger liquors. Vodka is nice to mix with.

I would have to say, especially if you want to lose faster, that alcohol does not help weightloss.

I will have an occasional glass of wine, but since I don't drink much, my tolerance is very low. Two drinks, and I'm ready to raid the fridge, so to control my EATING, I limit my drinking to a single glass.

It's not the alcohol that is a problem for me but the eating that can come from relaxed inhibitions once I get a 'buzz.'

That's probably my bigger issue - I want to munch when I have a cocktail. It's inevitable.
