Changes in diet causing weight gain?

Amazing...my weight has been stable since early March. When I weighed last Monday my weight had gone up 4 lbs from the week before *but* I knew I was holding quite a bit of water (I can fluctuate as much as 10 lbs!) due to the heat and humidity.

Got up this morning and the fluid is gone (no more puffy hands, legs, etc.) and I feel great...but I'm only down 1.5 lbs.

Now, I have been messing with my diet this past week, trying to do the ketogenic diet but my calories have dropped from slight under 1600 to about 1100...not such a huge drop that my body would've started 'conserving' more efficiently. My carbs are the same (under 25). My fats are just a bit higher (70% instead of 60-65) but my protein is lower (less than 63 when they were 100 or over).

I actually feel fabulous this morning and 'skinny' and can't figure out where that extra 2.5 pounds are hiding or where they came from!?

Don't worry, A. Your body is adjusting to changes. Weight would be still be water, is my guess. Betcha you wlll see more drop this week. Give it time.

I agree with Bella. How you are feeling is probably a better indicator than the scale.
