Just got back from vacation and I'm up 9 lbs. ugh

I tired to stay as low carb as possible but it was hard with eating out every single meal for a week! I also walked probably 30 miles around the amusement park over 3 days. I did have a couple of cheat meals. Going back strict Atkins today and hoping the weight comes back off quickly.

Well, the good news is, it's half water.
The bad news is , the other half isn't ! Lol
You should be good within a week or so

It will come off. Happened to me a couple weeks ago, I was up about 5 lbs. after 4 days, including a day at an amusement park. It has all come off and more. I would say it is all or almost all water weight if you were eating as LC as possible most of the time. Just get right back on plan and don't get discouraged.

Definitely water weight, maybe a few real lbs of fat. It's actually pretty hard to gain 9 pounds of fat in a week. You would have to consume more than 3500 calories than you burned each day and a couple of treat meals doesn't equal that. But "carb bloat" is very real.

You might have kicked yourself out of ketosis or not. If so, you'll have to re-adapt, couple days to a week and you'll be on your way again. Most important thing is to do just what you said you were going to --- get right back on plan.

Yep, I went up 8 pounds in a week, and I only had carbs for 1 meal.... but I lost all 8 pounds in 4 days after coming home.

Same thing happened to me. I stayed at a bed and breakfast and breakfasts were my only off plan meals. But I was up 8 pounds in 5 days. Within a couple of weeks it was gone. So just right back to it and don't let this discourage you.

I'm still recovering from mine a couple of weeks ago. I came back 10 pounds heavier, but I did not watch what I ate at all! I went crazy. I would have a box of local chocolates for breakfast and dessert almost every night. Still have three pounds left to go. However, I enjoyed every bite and don't regret it.

yeah, been there. Just two weeks ago. It will come off again, and I agree with the others, probobly most of it is water weight.

thanks! I am hopeful that it will come off quickly. One thing I realized I did do, was drink too much diet soda and not enough water. So I'm really pushing the water as well as staying on plan!
