Do you feel warmer on low carb?

Does anybody else feel like their body temp is warmer while following low carb? I always seem to be more hot and on the verge of sweating. Just wondering if anybody else had the same symptoms. Between that, the July heat spell and other age related factors, I'm HOT! (And I'm usually the cold one.)

I, too, am usually the cold one. Definitely not now!! Wonder what causes the temp change!?

No, I'm cold a lot. Probably colder than I used to be. Plus I have developed Raynaud's (my fingers go white and numb when exposed to cold). I likely have hypothyroidism, but it's not being treated currrently (doc visit for second opinion is in September).

I am just the opposite. I find I am colder when doing strict low carb.

Since low carbing for 12 months, I've gone from always being the one in the office being too hot, to the one who's constantly cold. 50 lbs of fat gone might have something to do with it... although I remember seeing a study that explained why you're colder when you're losing.

I guess I'm no help!

No, I'm always cold when I'm low carbing. I think because I'm not holding all that excess water. The only time I ever remember being hot/warm was back when I was eating *a lot* more protein. I was chowing down on 8 oz of steak at a meal (this was decades ago).

Yes! My menopausal hot flashes are ten times worse when I eat very low carb. A few years ago when I was low carbing and at my goal weight I was freezing all the time.

I have always been pretty warm-natured (love cold weather, etc.) and low-carb has cooled me off.

I have become more cold natured since going low carb. Maybe it is because I lost a lot of my insulation.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sounds like it mostly makes people feel cooler but affects some like me differently and makes us warm. Strange! I feel like there is definitely a chemical reaction heating me up from the inside out. Maybe it's the calories burning! :-) (On a side note, since starting back up again on July 5th, I'm down 5 pounds. Yahoo!)

CONGRATS on the loss. stick wtih it. you will do well!

I am hitting into menapause. I started LC and it 'fixed' (I thought) my hot flashes.
Now they are back BIG TIME. head fuzzy, super hot THEN super cold. ah, hormones, gotta love them.

I couldn't say if LC did anything in the way of temp control on me now

I'm opposite, hot when I'm not eating LC and freezing when I am. Will take freezing anytime.
