It is a 8-hr drive from Cincinnati I believe. Once there, I know what to eat and all. I do not want to eat from fast food restaurants on the road as they are a big trigger point for me

Thanks handbells I have been told there are a lot of seafood places as well. That is great news!

One thing that would hold up really well are those wraps from Wheat Belly. They're super easy and are firm enough you can stuff it with all your favorites and it would keep its shape.

Treat yourself to food you enjoy and is on plan but not an everyday purchase, to eliminate boredom.
Deluxe mixed nuts would be yummy, with macadamias, pecans, and almonds. You could prepare a sweet savory blend. I recommend snack baggies so you have a finite amount , it's easy to keep dipping your hand in.

I have heard of people tossing their salad in ziploc, and adding a packet of dressing and eating it right out of the bag with a fork. Would also work with hard boiled eggs, or tuna/chicken salad.

Celery and cream cheese would be good, or a crudités plate.
I love meat and cheese so would be tempted to do aged meats and cheese cubes and pick at it. Kielbasa, bier wurst, cured Hungarian salami and interesting cheeses.olives if you like.

Lower sugar jerky? That can be yummy.

You could do a yummy marinated salad with feta, olives, cherry tomatoes, cukes, in a Greek vinaigrette so you are getting some veg in.

My 2 and a bit month friendship with the scale ended a couple of weeks ago, weigh-in tomorrow will see if it's become my mortal enemy

Reading up, a lot of people stall after around a 30lb loss, hopefully bybody's just adapting and will get back on track soon, as nothing has changed diet wise, except I cut down on cheese this past week as aldi had some gourmet salami on offer that's only 0.8g carb per 30g stick, not ideal as I try to eat "clean" but wanted to push my fat up...

We're friends again!

My short stall/1lb gain is over, probably just weight fluctuation as 3 weeks ago I weighed 5 times in a day ranging from 252-258lbs, then 252 the following weeks and am now 247.8

For me a scale is important. For one, I'm going to stay more honest with myself if I track my weight....every time I stop weighing myself I end up cheating and eventually getting completely off track. The scale keeps me on track...if I gain weight I know I did something wrong.
The second reason is that I'm short and pear shaped....because of that, I'm not likely to see size loss quickly. Even if its small, even seeing an ounce or two lost is huge motivation.

Four months later the scale and I are still friends! Some weeks it treats me better than others, but over all, the scale has been rather friendly the past few months. Unfortunately, I did not have a scale back in April 2013 when I started this WOE and weight loss venture, but here it is Feb. 1st, 2014, and I weigh (I'm estimating) at least 40lbs (if not possibly 50) less than I did when I very first started!

The scale is a source of anxiety for me...always has been but I do weigh myself once a week. I was pretty freaked out that I "only" lost 1 lb this week...still am a little, but thats more a reflection on how messed up in the head I am

At my weight I just keep thinking that I should have lost a bit more.

I know that feeling all to well. I try to look at it as "If i'm not losing pounds on the scale, I must be losing inches off my body." I try to think that "they" (weight and inches) have to take turns, that keeps me going. I know, I know, I'm weird, and that's kinda ridiculous, childish reasoning, but it works for me. It's helped me drop almost 50lbs anyway!

I bought the tanita scale and weigh myself every day on it. It basically tells you that you are fat because it displays a + sign or ++ sign . It is like a weight loss coach that tells you that you are fat but gives you no advice. I am pretty sure that when I get down to the weight I want it is still going to tell me I am fat.. because that is what it likes to do.

I tip my hat off to you for being a daily weigher; I couldn't do it. The fluctuations would give me too much anxiety and unnecessary stress.

me too! but there is a scale out there that does not tell you how much you weigh, just if you are up or down from your original weight. I think something like that would be what I need. the numbers freak me out too much, but just knowing i was down every time would be good for now.

I think that would be a great idea. But my curiosity would get the best of me. I am pretty obsessed with the scale. In fact... I have 2 scales in my bathroom. They are exactly one pound off from each other. I am a bit of a nut job when it comes to weighing every day. I would get off track if I stopped.

I love all the different perspectives on frequency of weighing. In my own LC journey, I've been a
  • never-weigh-er (off-plan? not weighing)
  • a daily weigh-er (most of my previous on-plan LC intervals)
  • a weekly-ish weigh-er (my current behavior)
I have fallen off the wagon so many times I'm just trying to shake things up. This time I'm only worrying about keeping my carbs under 20 via induction foods, drinking my water, and getting more exercise. That's enough for now.

But I might go back to daily weighing if I keep making good progress. I feel like I'm too fragile right now to even deal with the daily fluctuations, even though I know from experience it's the downward trend that counts.

I suspected that my scale was wrong. But it pretty well says what the thing at Wal-Mart that weighted me said and the scale at the gym. The only thing that varied was to account for not being able to weigh myself naked at Wal-Mart and I just didn't bother to even take my shoes off at the gym either (so that accounted for about 1.5 pounds right there).

I love weighing.

Month ago I was around 204, 2 weeks ago 206, now 205.

NOT happy with my scale
Might have to take him round back.......

I have grown to hate my scale with a blazing passion of a million suns - so I only weigh myself once a month. I measure my waist every week, though, and that keeps showing progress and cheers me on. I'm both excited about and dreading the 1st of March!

Actually, this time around for me my goal isn't "losing weight". It's "getting healthy", and a number on a scale doesn't tell me much, if anything, about how I look and feel.
