Going to try induction again

I am really struggling...I cut carbs out about a month ago and have only seen 3 pound loss that goes back up to where I started depending on the day on weigh. I really am thinking that before I throw in towel that I need to do induction by the book!! Watch my cheese or maybe eliminate it I already measure my cream and I weigh my salad out so I know what I am taking in.

My body has changed so much since turning 40. I low carb with great success in my 30's. since turning 40 I have gained 5 pounds a year and now I am 44. So 20 pounds and mind u I am always on one plan or another. This has to end. I am tired of it. My dad has been very ill the lat 2 months and the good news is I haven't binged like I would if in past.

I think this past month my carbs have been really low and it's not working. So 20 carbs with 15 coming from veggies!!

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Plan eat till full count and weigh everything! I need to c what I am doing exactly before I tweek or change plans. I do need some patience also. sorry so long

JKat,
Can you post a typical days menu? Also, as far as the patience goes keep in mind that we did not gain the weight overnight but over a period of time so it is going to take time to get it off. I can tell you for myself since turning 40 it has been harder taking off the weight.

Yeah, and it's not going to get any easier in your 50's, so good to work on this now. It makes sense to me to follow induction to the letter (should you be so inclined). That will give you a good baseline if you need to tweak as the weeks go by. Not sure you need to weigh things during induction, but I suppose it can't hurt and you will have good records.

Oh geez...that age thing really messes us up and I feel for you!

The last time I did low carb I was 39 and lost 40 lbs in less than two months; THIS time when I started, I lost about 10 lbs. in two months.

Are you insulin resistant? That can really impact our ability to lose weight. Do you have high blood glucose readings (if you check)? I ask because I had to improve my insulin resistance before I could even start slowly losing weight (it took me six completely unsuccessful months to figure that out).

Hang in there and good luck!
