Ring The Bells
I broke through to 'onederland'! I started this WOE in 2011 and lost over 50 lbs, but stalled out around 205 for over a year. Something clicked again recently and I've been able to stick to lower protein, higher fat ratios, and the scale is moving again! I set my goal weight high because I couldn't imagine ever weighing under 200 again, now I may set it lower if this keeps working! Thanks to all you inspirational LCF members for sharing your day to day struggles and triumphs. I couldn't have done it without you.:jumpjoy:

The hardest thing for folks is to hang in there! Kudos to you for doing so through so many disappointments! :shake:

Congratulations that the scale is moving again! I set my goal weight the exact same as yours for the same reason. Hope it keeps moving for you!

Congratulations and thank you for sharing!!! I have been doing the WOE for a year and have had very slow weight loss and have been at a stand still for quite awhile. So your post gives me hope and gives me encouragement to stay on plan.

You are proof it is so worth it to hang in there and never stop trying...congrats!!

Thanks for your kind comments, everyone! When I started this WOE, my mom, who is a TOPS leader, said 'You'll have to eat that way for the rest of your life!', like that was a bad thing! My dad and mom eat according the the ADA recommendations for diabetics, and don't lose anything, in fact my dad, the diabetic, keeps getting bigger. I am 2 1/2 years into this WOE, and don't miss most of the food i used to eat. One thing that gets me is the smell of birthday cake. We celebrate at least a dozen birthdays throughout the year, and I find that if I taste even one lick of icing, I lose it, and end up eating cake for days, or as long as it lasts! The last one I ate was for my birthday, my daughter brought me the cutest penguin cake, and I ate the whole thing myself. That was the end of Dec. and I realized that I just can't even taste cake/icing anymore, then I won't lose control like that. I have made LC cakes that are good, but find I can do without and don't need it. I am finding with cutting back on protein serving size and cutting back on veggie serving size, and adding fat is working a wonder on my appetite.

Congratulations, that's awesome! I have the same problem with birthday cake and icing. I have also realized that I just can't even sample them. They are a detriment to my eating plan and goal. Theye are the devil! KUTGW!!!

Way to go! We had devil's food chocolate cake in the house for my brother's birthday this past weekend. Oh, was it hard to avoid! It was surely the devil!!! Keep it up! You look great!
