Will insurance pay for an extra blood work test?

I know it probably depends on individual insurance, but I was wondering if anybody has had it happen?

Here's why.

I had a physical 3 weeks ago. I IMMEDIATELY switched to much lower carbs, for 3 days, and then to under 30 carbs a day after the 3rd day. I am scheduled to go back and get new blood work done in September - 3 months after my physical. But I am SO CURIOUS to see how may blood work has changed that I want to take one at 6 weeks.... maybe to help me feel 100% comfortable with my new WOE.

Yes, I did write a post about reading Wheat Belly, and feeling much better about my new WOE, but reading about it is not the same as having actual numbers to reinforce this WOE.

Actually, you are better off waiting. I remember Dr. A saying that cholesterol numbers would go up a bit initially, but by 6 months, he would see a significant drop in their numbers.

I agree with Lisa. As much as you want to see the numbers before then, you'll be happier if you wait.

Not sure what numbers you are most curious about but if it would help to know your total cholesterol you might want to donate blood at the 6 week mark. I donated recently & they posted my total cholesterol 3 days later online.

I agree with waiting. My results won't change that much that quickly.
