Weigh more in the morning??

I thought you were supposed to weigh yourself first thing in the morning, but I tend to weigh MORE than in the afternoon. Weird.

Thoughts?

No answers. It has happened to me too ,though. I think though that it is not how much you weigh in cmparison but to be able to compare under the same circumstances. Yes, you most likely weigh less in the morning and that is what we all like to see but more importantly you have not put anything in your body, in fact you are empty (errm cough) so your weight comparisons are more accurate which is more important than the actual number ,even if that sounds hard to believe. While you might weigh less in the pm you cannot count on that as you have already exposed yourself to various factors . You could also be up 3 lbs and then would not have a comparative basis as you did not eat the same or drink the same .If it makes you happy wweigh in the pm but also take the morning weight for reference.

The point is to compare weights from the same approx. circumstances as the previous so if you prefer to weigh at another time of the day and try to approx. the same circumstances - no problem. For most people, it is easiest to do that first thing in the morning.

The reason for weighing less later in the day may have to do with bladder and bowel movements and also the fact that we all have up to 4 lbs. worth of fluids that can shift over any 24 hour period.

that is odd.
I absolutely weigh less first thing in the morning than at any other time of day.
Just goes to show YMMV

I weigh more right when I get up then when I've been up for an hour. My normal routine is to get up, go potty, take a shower, blow dry my hair, then weigh. It's usually a pound or so difference than weighing when I first wake up. Not sure about the afternoon though, I'm too nervous that I'll weigh more lol

I usually weigh less in the mornings but out of curiosity I've weighed in the afternoon after being hot and sweaty from working in the yard. Sometimes that weight is lower.

I think being consistent in your weigh-in times and looking at the big picture, like from week to week or from month to month, is a good plan.

Thanks for the input everyone!

Just as I said, I just weighed myself (1:30 pm CST) and I am 1 lb lighter than this morning.

Guess I will wait from now on. I just had a habit of doing it first thing in the am.

First week's goal of 2 lbs gone has been exceeded!!
