Temporary LC side effect? TMI thread

I have been under 30 carbs a day for only 5 days or so.... and for the first 4 I was constipated. Since last night I have had about 7 bowel movements.... I am guessing that is from LC and temporary?

Sounds more like a stomach bug to me.

Another thought--- are you eating a lot of low carb bars/shakes/candies?
Malitol could do that to me. and some people can't handle sorbitol. Most bars/shakes/candies have one or the other or both.

nope..... none of those bars... and my stomach feels fine..... I am thinking just a temporary thing, and no big deal, but really forgot to ask, how long it lasts before the adjustment.

I am doing LCHF, though having a hard time getting the fat part in.... still more protein than fat ratio. Doing fine on the LC part.

You might ask your doctor if you can take magnesium supplements. Magnesium is great for low carbers to take and helps keep you regular. I take 500 mg of chelated magnesium a day.

It actually took me several weeks to adjust. My body was not used to any fat.

Magnesium tends to get things moving, so supplementing right now may not be a good idea, but when a body adjusts, magnesium is a great way to stay regular.
