OMM WEIGHT GAIN??

Have been back on Atkins for about 5 weeks, and losing well 21# After reading all of the uses for omm I decided to try it for sandwiches using almond meal for 2 days and gained 4# So of course I quit eating it even though it tasted great. Does anyone else have a problem with omm and weight gain??? the omm was the only change in my eating on the 2 days I gained.

Too much almond meal, any nuts actually, can cause a problem. How about an oopsie roll instead?

The same thing happened to me. I bought almond meal flour to make pizza crust. Well I gained 3 lbs. So I stopped using it. I was told by my brother's trainer that the almond meal will stall you because it's a nut and too many nuts will stall a weight loss. It makes sense, because when I eat too many nuts I will stall, but a small amount never stalls me.
Almond meal is good for people on OWL. :)

I keep some in my freezer for occasional use, but never every day.
I've been using for some one size portion fatbombs every now and then.
When I first started I got a bit too excited about some recipes here, but I become more realistic about those only being for special occasions down the road, for me.

I think people imagine they see trends FAR TOO SOON. this was almost certainly not the cause of that gain. people just gain and lose because of water retention and bowel contents, among other things.

you would need a lot more controlled experimentation to see if this is true.

I expect you just had extra bowel contents, since flax is a LOT of fiber!

I HIGHLY doubt that a couple OMMs gave you the 3500 cals/lb x 4 = 14,000 extra calories it takes to actually gain 4 lbs of fat.

You are retaining water or something.

A few weeks ago I made and ate some cheesy almond biscuits and I gained 5 lbs. I think I am sensitive to almond meal. Backing away!!! They were so good, but I had to throw the rest away!!
