TOM and Frustrated... :(

I am very frustrated. I have never had a problem when it is that time of the month for me, but the last two months have been different. I have gained 3 to 5 pounds each time and this lasts a whole week.
Is this normal for some women? Is a five pound gain that lasts a whole week normal? and is this water? I feel so upset because in the past I have always kept losing weight during TOM. This is the first time TOM has stalled me. :(

for me, yes and it's mostly water gain, and anywhere up to 7lbs. however, i do have to be very conscious not to over eat cuz TOM makes me ravenous!

Yes, it's normal; it's not a stall.

Completely normal. It's just water, not a fat gain. Stick to your plan and let it work for you.

I have to be careful during TOM too, because the cravings can get out of control! I never used to really have that problem, but then again, I was eating so much garbage before, that I probably just didn't notice the cravings.

Thanks everyone.
I was really starting to freak out. I have never gained on TOM while on Atkins, however, I am a bit older now and my body is different. So glad to hear this is normal and just water. :)

It's far more unusual you never gained during your premenstrual time before, than it is tht you do now :). Ignore the scale and focus on *behaviors*. If you're eating on plan and exercising, you're golden and the scale will take care of itself.

Although I do weigh daily, I always go back and look to see how I much I lost for the entire month. Weight is going to fluctuate, but as long as the trend is downward, you are on the right track.
My weight for May was crazy because I went on a camping trip and ate too much carby crap. When I got home, I had gained 8 pounds. I could have let it bother me, but I didn't, because I knew there was no way I had gained that much fat. By the end of May, I had managed to lose 4.3 pounds even with my camping trip because most of what I "gained" was just water weight. Tracking trends is better for my mind :)
