Bullet Proof Coffee

So I've been reading post about this and decided when I get paid Friday, I'm going to invest in some grass fed butter and CO. For those who use this, did you notice an increase in your weight loss?

I noticed a definite decrease in my belly fat when I started drinking this, and continued decrease over the last week when I started taking tonalin CLA 2000mg twice per day. i haven't gotten weighed for 4 weeks, so I don't know about the weight loss, but I went down 1 pants size and my belly is a lot smaller.

I didn't notice a particular increase in weight loss when I started drinking BP Coffee. However, there was no decrease either and I did notice that I was no longer starving by lunch time. I don't eat breakfast and with plain black coffee or coffee made with half&half I am really hungry by the time I eat around 1pm. The bulletproof coffee keeps me pretty much full until lunch time, probably because of the increased fat from the butter and coconut oil. I use approximately 1 tablespoon of each in my BP Coffee.

BPC does exactly what its name promises. For me it takes any urgency out of eating. I pick my time for lunch and what I will have and can shift timing around if I am not near good food. I don't think there is any magic in the ingredients as such just the fill up and slow burn factor.

I'm a recent convert to BPC. Can't say what it does for weight loss, but I suspect like everything else, it is no silver bullet. Here's what I CAN say.

I've never been a breakfast person, no matter how many experts say it's the most important meal of the day, and if you're not eating it you're doomed and blah, blah, blah. Heard that for years, and it just didn't matter to me, because since I was a child, I have had no interest in food when I wake up. None. At some point you realize the experts don't know your individual machine and how it works.

For me, BPC is not only yummy---something I recently discovered to my great surprise, as I thought, as a black coffee person, it sounded terrible--- but it does indeed give you energy to go on. I used to come to lunch like a starved person. I'd go from not hungry at all till 11 or so, to famished w/in minutes.

With the BPC, I notice a HUGE difference. I'm not famished when I get to lunch time. I'm sure this has everything to do w/the fact that I can drink what I can't eat in the AM. And that people who eat breakfast every
morning, comfortably, have always approached lunch w/out being famished. I'm just happy to find something that appeals to me first thing in the morning, and something that does every bit what the eggs and bacon would have done.

And past this, BPC is a great way to add in fat to your diet. I don't know about everyone else, but as much as I like me some fat, it is still hard for me to get in as much as is what is useful on a LC woe.

Ok so I had my very first authentic bullet proof coffee this morning. Like many, I was very skeptical about how it was going to taste and even if my stomach would handle it.

First with respect to taste. Very good. Reminded me of a cappaccino. I blended 1 tbsp of butter, 2 tbsp of EVCO and 12 oz of coffee in a blender and got the nice froth people have been talking about.

Stomach - Didn't react too well. It hit me about 3 hours later. Stomach pain and I hit the potty twice already. Which really isn't too bad considering I've had minimal movement lately. Sorry TMI.

I drank it between 6:00 - 6:30 am and just now (11:00) got hungry so I'm eating some cheese.

I will admit I am nervous about the scale going up after drinking such a drink loaded with so much fat! We shall see!

Ray, if your weight does go up don't automatically blame the fat. We have had it drilled into us to do so on very flimsy evidence. If your big picture in terms of lowcarb is right you should not see an increase.

Coincidence?

So I just got back from the gym. I usually work out really hard and today was no exception. Only today I felt like I did so even more! My endurance was through the roof!! I belong to Curves which is strength and cardio. The machines felt weightless!

Burnt 400 calories effortlessly.

UPDATE - TMI Elert

Probably lost 5 lbs in not even a day!!

Ok, not really. But holy cow! I think I'm in detox mode! Thank God I'm near a bathroom today.

This really isn't an unwelcomed thing though because I've always had a problem, et-hem, going, so this helped with that for sure!

Constipation was a consistent problem for me when I began Low Carb, no matter how much water I drank. Then folks here turned me on to a magnesium supplement. I take one every night and voila, problem solved.

Magnesium is also a great anti-inflammatory and good for you in many, many ways. From my reading, it's kind of an unsung hero amongst supplements. Dr. Eades says if you only take one supplement, make it magnesium.

Plus it is a sleep aide! Can't believe how much easier I fall asleep when I take it about 10 minutes before I go to bed.

This is interesting, I am thinking of starting them as well. Thank you for giving us the whole story TMI or not, it's stuff I want to know before I start. Please keep us posted on your experience with BPC!!

Some people find they do better when they ease into adding coconut oil or butter into their coffee. The combination of fat plus caffeine is a potent one for some people's GIT.

Yeah, I think I'm hooked! I actually had a cup in the morning and before dinner last night. And another this morning. Last night I added 1 tsp of unsweetened cocoa powder and it was very yummy.

At $11 a pop for a container of the EVCOO, I'm gonna need a second job though! lol.

PS: My daughter's therapist and I were discussing EVCO and she said how she bakes with it. She studied holistic healing in college so she has some good knowledge to share as well. She confirmed that it is considered a "miracle" oil. And this girl is skinny as sin too! lol.

At the advice of you wonderful people, I just bought myself a bottle of Nature Made Magnesium 250 mg. I don't quite understand (have to do research) how these are suppose to help with bowel troubles. It says "Helps Nerve & Muscle Function".

It can benefit more than one system at the same time.

Heard of Milk of Magnesia? That's a magnesium-based laxative.
