Family history of type 2 diabetes.
Better nutrition, in my opinion (with whole foods, though; I don't do bars and shakes and stuff like that).
The book made sense to me.
This type of food is preferable to my personal tastes--I'd rather have eggs and give up cereal.

It works I also feel better when following a LC WOE. I've tried WW as well as typical low fat/low cal diets and always felt tired and foggy. I get the same result from consuming supposedly healthy whole grain bread that I do from sugar laden ice cream.

Low Carb was not actually what I chose, but I did choose a whole-foods, semi-paleo diet which is low carb by default I chose it to be healthier, I just don't want all the additives, preservatives and mystery ingredients in my body.

I don't follow a specific diet plan (other than my own) or a specific type (LC, HC, etc) of diet.
By coincidence (or not?) my nutrition is technically LC. Why? Because it was all that was left once I eliminated all the GMO's, processed foods, etc. that I consider unhealthy.
