SF Metamucil?
 
I drink tons of water. Every now and then, I want something besides water. I am not really a soda drinker and I really could use the extra fiber right now (if ya' know what I mean). My Mom gave me a huge canister of Berry Flavored SF Metamucil. I added a Tbs. Bragg's ACV to it and it tasted so good. I did this before my meal and only ate half of what I would normally eat. Any thoughts or ideas? :dunno:

I would probably finish the canister of Metamucil, but not buy anymore
when it's gone. The sweetener in it is aspartame, otherwise known as
Nutra Sweet, which is not recommended.

I think if you still lose weight and like it, drink it. I personally drink aspartame all the time with no problems. Ymmv. Everyone is different.

OK...maybe I'll ditch the metamucil and drink my ACV in my bulletproof coffee and have a flax muffin with it! LOL

I use psyliium husks from netrition. You can choose what to add to it. DW just puts it in water. Each day, I put 1 TBS psyllium husks, 1 TBS flax seed meal, and 1 TBS protein powder in 1 cup of water and blend it.

Some people put a tablespoon in a glass of water w/a little sweetener. It dilutes it quite a bit (better than straight up).

I have used sugar free Metamucil for several years and have had no problems. It keeps me regular as clockwork. I go once a day in the morning. Not to be too graphic, but you will save a ton of money on toilet paper.

I was having issues w/regularity and folks here recommended taking a 500 mg tablet of Magnesium every night. Works like a dream. In addition it's a good sleep aide. I take it right before bed and just float right off within 10 minutes, which is a real bonus because I've had sleep issues too. And best of all, magnesium is a great anti-inflammatory, and most of us are deficient in it. I highly recommend giving it a try.

The reason your not as hungry is have you ever put the Metamucil in a cup and didn't drink it down right away? It swells and becomes gel like. What this is doing in your stomach is swelling and filling you up. Which is also a benefit of not eating as much. As for the aspartame, I drink it never have issues with it. I have stopped drinking as much in diet coke but still drink it in the s/f drink packets with no problems.
