OP - I feel your pain! Every Monday morning we have a weekly lab meeting and they bring in fresh bagels & cream cheese, which is one of my all-time FAVORITE foods! It's so hard smelling them and seeing them, and our lab meeting usually last for about 2 hours but it feels like forever sometimes, haha! We also have coffee so I find myself drinking a TON of it on Monday mornings to keep my mind off the bagels. It works but it's still really tough

We often have potlucks or pizza. I take something I know I can eat and someone always brings raw veggies or a green salad. For pizza, I just eat the toppings.

A couple of years ago, they came up with the idea of Soup Day. Each Friday, two people would bring soup for the rest of the office. I took my own soup each week until it was my turn. I brought Sausage-Pumpkin Soup and you should have heard them: "Oh, my arteries are hardening just looking at it!" "You shouldn't eat all that fat!" "It's got cream in it? You could probably make it with skim milk." Jeez, I was glad when Soup Day ran its course.

Wow, your co-workers are rude! At my last job, the department I worked in had a weekly soup potluck during the fall and winter. I wasn't doing LC back then, but no one would have turned up their nose at a sausage & pumpkin soup.

We usually always have some sugary snacks hanging out in the break room and those don't bother me much but for some reason the whole food day thing was difficult and uncomfortable. I have seen that recipe for the pumpkin-sausage soup but have not tried making it, it sounds like it is probably really good!

I used to eat the toppings, just with a fork, and leave the crusts. Then I got
the brilliant idea to make my salad, and cut up the pizza toppings (I still leave
the crusts) and put those on my salad. Then a drizzle of ranch dressing, and
OMG! I wasn't sure about it the first time I did it, but I'm telling you- if you like
pizza, salad and ranch dressing, you will them all together in the same bite!
