This time around I started out in a size 16 and 200 lbs. At 187 lbs I'm still in size 16, but my jeans are fitting much looser. I have 2 pairs of size 14 jeans I'm trying to get into that are still too tight, and don't expect them to fit until I lose 10 more lbs. I'm short and bottom heavy though, and generally have to lose close to 20 lbs to go down a size.
Just from your information it shows how much they have changed

12 yrs ago a 10 fit you at 140
now a 16 fits at 200.

I remember not too long ago someone wearing a 16 would be around 160-170 tops, now someone who is 120 can wear a size 2. I think part of it is the large percentage of spandex that they put into jeans now. I remember when jeans used to be hard and would keep their shape, now something that is tight in the morning tends to get baggy as the day goes on. I'm guilty of this too when I got to my highest weight- I would stuff myself into jeans that were way too tight/small, but had a lot of stretch, so I wouldn't have to go up a size.

Very close to me. When I was 204 I could for a 16 from old navy. I have a bit of work to get back there.

I wore a size 16 between about 195-225 pounds. I'm 5'11". Sizing really is all over the place these days, though (unfortunately).

I'm 5'2 and I weight 210 and I am a size 16 right now. Crazy, I know. I carry my weight extremely even.

Hi...

Here's a website that will help you see your size more accurately...

It's called Mybodygallery.com....you can search using height, weight, pant size and body shape to see real women at the same size...it's interesting to see yourself at a goal weight and at your current weight and size....

I'm still in those size 16 jeans at 187, probably due to the stretch. The size 14 jeans I'm trying to get into are 100% cotton and have almost no give. That's something of a rarity these days. You were comparing today's size 16 to what used to be an 8. I don't think that is quite right. A dressmaker or sewing pattern size 8 may be equivalent to size 16 now, but that's not the same as buying clothes off the rack.

I wish I knew how much I weighed in high school. I wore a size 10-12 back then and thought I was enormous but looking at pictures I probably weighed around 130, maybe a bit more. Most of my peers were thin to normal weight and being chubby was not the norm back then.

5'6" and if I remember right, when I was a "straight" 16 (not a plus size store 16, but a size 0-16 line size 16) I was somewhere between 210 and 220lb.

Then again, I have a pinstripe pair of size 16 slacks which are Chinese which fit NOW, when almost all of my other clothes are size 12. US clothing is bigger than most of the rest of the world, even in the "straight" sizes.

ETA - I have allot of muscle, before a recent surgery, I was working out 14+ hours a week doing things like kettle bell and aerial silks (using strength to lift my own body weight up onto the silks).
