Hi, Lindy. Do you know what the source of your SIL's CKD is? I have type I diabetes and am just starting to show signs of CKD myself.

Here's a baking soda study. I was wrong about the other one. It's not baking soda, it was nutritional ketosis (which I'm guessing anyone in their right mind, whose not already doing it, would reject. But I'm doing it and loving it, so who knows... Anyway, for that one google "Mobbs ketosis chronic kidney disease."

I hope it helps!

Yeah, he has Hydro Necrosis. Not diabetes. I've heard about that one. I just feel he would do so well with NK. I'm trying to research good sites for him. Of course, his dr probably wants low fat low cal. ha Thank, appreciate it.

Well I've been working up the courage to try an ACV "tonic" and I got an idea today based on things that have been suggested in this thread. I poured a can of La Croix over ice, added the ACV and a touch of sweetener, and it was actually good!!! Of course, I love La Croix so that probably had a lot to do with it. But the point is that the vinegar didn't alter the taste of it as much as I'd feared. Yay!

I bought a bunch of bottled water today so I can pre-make my tonics. I've only been getting 1 in a day because of time, so I'm going to make a bunch so I can grab them and get up to 3Xday.

That's a great idea! Really good for people that are on the go a lot and don't have the convenience of mixing one up at home any time they need them

So I've been drinking about 1.5 Tbsp. raw apple cider vinegar diluted in about 8 oz. water with a few drops of vanilla stevia twice a day for the past few days, and the weight is melting off! It is like some miracle potion! I'm also eating more fat bombs, so I think this is a magic combination for me. I'm down 4 lbs. this past week and I only started the ACV about 3 days ago! I am definitely keeping it up!

I forgot to pack my ACV today and feel like I'm having anxiety over it! lol. I actually might have to stop at the supermarket at lunch time to pick up a bottle of it to keep at work so I don't forget again. I just feel like it's doing a lot of good.

I've been using 50/50 ACV and water as a toner as well. I have mild acne scars and I read it helps lighten them. We shall see!

So I made a ton of bottles up last night lol. I poured a little water out of the 16.9fl oz bottles, put 2 tbsp ACV and 1/2tsp great value apple drink powder in them. That way I can grab one in the morning and drink half in the morning and half in the afternoon and I'll have my ACV at home at night to drink my 3rd. Sooooooooooo much easier. I didn't get my ACV in yesterday at all and I'm retaining a lb. I did eat a ton of chicken wings so maybe thats why lol.

I may be in the minority here, but I take my ACV straight with water. Usually no sweetener. I it!!

But it's also tasty with a little splenda and baking soda. Really tasty!

I am starting the vinegar tonic today. It sounds very interesting after doing a search on LCF. My husband has used it daily for 30+ years but his vinegar is the standard filtered vinegar. We will switched to the organic vinegar now. I'm hoping to see some benefits in the months to come. Thanks for this post.

I almost bought some ACV last night but it was just the regular ACV found in the grocery store. Not the Braggs "mother" kind. Does it make a difference?

I could have sworn the last time I was in Sprouts looking for ACV a floor person mentioned the "pill form". Any thoughts on those?

Because of this thread, I added a Tbs of Braggs ACV to my morning concoction of chlorophyll and 12 oz of cold, plain green tea.

My health food store was out of regular chlorophyll, and they only had mint flavored.

This concoction is ... interesting. My husband thinks I have lost my mind!

Mine too!

I went out at lunch time to pick up a bottle for work so I can't forget to bring it anymore. I eat a lot of sodium and I truly believe it helps. I'm eating a pretty sodium packed lunch right now and I just know I will pee it out with the help of good ol' Braggs!

Yes, it does make a difference! The mother is what gives it many of its beneficial properties

I've never used the pills, but I honestly wouldn't. I'm unsure of how those would be absorbed, honestly, since the capsule would need to dissolve first and many people who benefit from ACV tonics (myself included) have low stomach acid to begin with... so oftentimes supplements/pills go partially un-utilized through the system.

I know it. I started 4 days ago and have lost 3.2 lbs. I can't say that it was the ACV because I also lowered calories about 200 day. But I'll take it. Keep up the good work.

For toner, do you leave it on your face or wash it off with water?

I leave it on my face and have never had trouble with it when I mix 1 part Braggs to 3 parts water Sure, you'll smell like ACV for a good 5-10 minutes... but it's worth the clear skin to me!

Usually I put a really light amount of coconut oil on after that and my skin is looking better than it has pretty much ever

Oh, woo, that's what I've been doing (leaving it on). I have very sensitive skin and so far so good. I actually was doing 50/50. I put it in a little Truvia container (minus the sugar lol) and use it morning and night. Maybe I should add more water?? Today my face feels a tiny bit burny. I get nervous as I can't afford to make my face worse (I have minor acne scarring).

I have cut down soda drinking significantly. I just don't think I crave it as much. Oh, and I keep my ACV in fridge. I'm not sure if they suggest that or not, but I do it anyway.

I refrigerate mine as well. IDK if it would effect it. Seems to me the more "organic" something is the more it should be refrigerated lol.

Really, I'm just used to refrigerating anything after I open it.

I actually think they tell you NOT to refrigerate it... not 100% sure about that though. I always figured it may do something to the mother? At any rate, I know it doesn't HAVE to be refrigerated, and I don't refrigerate mine

Melanie, Which kind is it exactly that we're supposed to be drinking? I just grabbed a regular bottle of it at the grocery store, so I don't think it's the right thing. What kind should I be getting?

I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound stupid, but what does it mean that the Mother is in it? Does it say that on the label? The Heinz is actually the brand I bought originally, and then this weekend I picked up a bottle of the Braggs Organic ACV. I didn't notice though if the label said anything about the Mother in it. Sorry, this is completely new to me.
