HF/MP/LC vs. Protein Power

Does anyone know why one would be better than the other? Does anybody have experience with both? If so, what is your opinion?

I don't know a lot about protein power. I'm assuming you're allowed more than your daily needs of protein. I think HF/MP/LC is helpful for those of us who are so sensitive to carbs that the excess protein that we eat (which is converted to glucose after you eat it) keeps us from burning fat effectively.

I would not say Protein Power is a high protein plan. The formula in the book is to multiply ones lean body mass by .6 or .8 for minimum protein needs. The Eades did write that it's okay to go over the minimum amount of protein, and I can see where some people might get the idea that it's okay to eat an excessive amount. Fat is not limited on PP. The carb level starts at 30 g in phase 1 and moves up to 55 g in phase 2. That might not work for people who are very carb sensitive.

I didn't read the 2nd PP book and don't know if the Eades have revised their protein recommendation in the years since the book was first published.

Forgot to add my experience with PP, and how it differs from LCHF. I lost 40 lbs on PP many years ago and found it fairly easy to lose on 50-55 carbs per day.

When I decided to give low carb another try at the beginning of this year, I went with LCHF because I'd read so much about it and was curious. I like the appetite suppression it's given me and control over the urge to binge. Weight loss has been slow, but that may have more to do with my age and being close to menopause.
