Low carb saved my life. I had a purging disorder (not bulimia) and got rid of every meal I ate not to gain weight. If I didn't I gained and fast. Low carb helped me get off this merry go round that was killing me. I have not felt the need to purge in 9 years. My fears is if I ever cheat, I will literally fall off a cliff. Keeps me loyal

Google purging disorder. For 30 years I thought I was bulimic yet I never fit the text book of binging, laxatives and so forth. Just used purging not to gain weight.

I prefer a high fat diet to a low fat or high protein diet which is one of the main reasons. The other reason is that I hated being a slave to hunger and food, which was definitely caused by carbs. I used to have a serious problem hoarding food because I was always afraid of being hungry even though I had tonnes of body fat. It never made sense that I over-eat. Thanks to all the research into low carb diets, I now know how and why to deal with it.

Just knowing going back to eating high-carbs will get me back to 196 is motivation alone. The fact that the diet helps with my former indigestion problems is merely a plus. No other diet has been as easy to do than this one. I never feel deprived like I do on all other programs I've tried.

It is 'trading up' in food and health. The question is 'why haven't I eaten like this for my entire life?'. Oh ya, I was following the 'conventional wisdom'.

Besides losing and maintaining a healthy weight, I feel a lot better eating LC. Maybe a little TMI, but as soon as I start eating anything with grains or potatoes in it, I get horrible gas. I spend my days bloated and miserable. I never have to fart when I eat LC. And that's the truth of it.

I love being trim, healthy and fit.
But being pain free is a huge reason why I say I'll never go back to carbs.
I had chronic knee pain for over a year that was really causing me to worry.
Since going LC the knee pain is gone ....G-O-N-E!!!
Why would I ever even consider changing?

Easy to maintain over a long period of time, I feel much better, plus the fewer carbs you eat the less hungry you feel. Carbs trigger fake hunger. Plus I'm used to it now and prefer this woe.

The way I feel. Eating high carb foods makes me feel sluggish, tired, heavy. It's not worth it.

WOE: LC my way
Start Date: Feb, 2013
IF I stay on a LC woe this time---done it before, lost a bunch of weight, fell off the wagon---it will be because this time I've made the effort to collect recipes that will keep a variety of dishes in my life. Last time I was a lazy low carber, eating the same things over and over again. I got bored. I treated it like a diet, and that was my mistake.

This time I see it as a journey, and I'm exploring possibilities like crazy. Now have an organized folder on my desk top that tells me the recipes I tried and loved, and those I want to try. It's an adventure, and it's fun.

I LOVE food, and that's not ever going to change. So my challenge is to learn how I can eat Low Carb 98% of the time, and remain satisfied. And for me, that's all about variety.

2 months back on LC eating I can also say this. I LOVE how this woe tames my lion appetite to one much more mouse like, with me feeling satisfied nevertheless. That is SO golden and hopeful. And I'm going to keep doing my part---exploring and experimenting---to make sure it grows and glows.

I have been adding carbs back in, but now not every day, because as soon as I eat carbs I get stomach aches and my skin starts to fall apart. I definitely don't crave carbs at all because of the consequences!

LC is the only way I can eat and be healthy and happy !!

I tried eating "normally" this week, to be honest and I ate EVERYTHING not nailed down ! Stomach pains, daily headaches, back pain, daily naps,....... just basically wasted my whole week off

And, I gained 8 lbs !!! Experiment OVER !!

I love LC and was just having a pity party and wanted to enjoy "being normal"
NO MORE .... I want to be healthy and HAPPY and have energy !

LC is the only way for me to keep my blood sugar at non-diabetic levels. Since I am committed to being a "diabetic without diabetes," I stay LC.

The huge weight loss and all the other health benefits are just a bonus!

Fear.
My dad had a heart attack at 46 and my mom had a stroke in her fifties. My grandpa (on mom's side) has diabetes. Mom has diabetes. Grandpa (on dad's side) died of a heart attack.
I'm just plain scared of being sick/incapacitated/in pain.

I am not hungry all the time, my skin is somewhat better, not be tmi but my cycles are now always 28 days where before they would be 40-50 days apart.I started in 2011 and don't plan to stop ever. I made the decision then that this was for life. Every now and then I do have something but maybe once every 2 months. I do still drink out with friends every now and then. It has been easy for me to stick to. A few of my friends have also decided to eat this way as well so that helps!

Appetite control is the number one reason for me.

All the other good things like no more back pain and feeling more energy I've experienced on other weight loss regimes. But being able to keep my appetite in check simply by choosing to avoid certain foods is like a miracle to me and I can't believe it took me this long to figure it out.

I always remember that little miracle when I get back on the LC train...it hits me like a ton of bricks...Makes me wonder why I fell off the train to begin with!

When I am not doing LC I am obsessed with food. What am I going to eat, when will my next meal be, what about a snack...? It's insane!

I love the freedom that I've found in LC.. I can eat out with relative ease, enjoy all kinds of meats and butter is NOT an enemy! I love that! I also love the fact that I don't CRAVE sugar anymore! This is a minor miracle for me.

My PCOS symptoms are improving, and I am hopeful that I will be able to reverse the stupid thing altogether with LC. I want to be a mommy, and I know the majority of the battle is getting rid of the weight!

It's also really nice to put on clothes that make me look adorable and not like a sausage in the casing.. :P
