Weekly Carb up Day ?

I had a 2 week weight loss stall, and then went out for a special occasion dinner. I had a few carby things, then had a loss the next day. The loss has stuck (5 days later) and it got me thinking - does it help to shake it up every once in awhile? Does anyone do this with good results?

apparently it can happen. To do with the hormone leptin.I can't remember the rest of the science but if you do it too often it spoils it

I've heard a carby meal can help with a loss, but I don't know how true it is. I'm still a newbie.

It's one of those things that I think depends on the individual however I'm sure it probably does you some good to throw a mix in there occasionally.

Hope the loss continues

I think weekly is to often,Youd likely be throwing yourself in and out of ketosis constantly.I am for biweekly or monthly carb days though.I think it speeds weighloss and gives one a break at the same time.I actually like to rotate my plan every 2-4 weeks but that wouldnt be good for everyone.Works for me.

everyone's different. no 2 dieters are the same. it worked for you once, why not try it again? every week seems a little too often, though. if you have a problem with falling off the dieting wagon, you might want to rethink it.

i loosen up my diet every few weeks, and while it doesn't seem to have speeded up my weight loss, i don't binge the day after. in fact, it seems to revive me to keep on going. ymmv

I always do that when I'm stuck - have a high(er) carb day. It seems to re-kick start my weight loss.

Just remember there is a huge difference between a few carby veges with dinner once a fortnight and eating a whole deep dish and a bottle of coke 'to get things going'.

Our brains are so good at justifying that sort of nonsense.

ask me how I know...

Been there done that huh?

I got home from work yesterday to a big bag (and I mean grocery bag size) of chocolate biscuits in the fridge, my MIL had been shopping & bought one of the boxes of broken biscuits and given them to us because they were all chocolate...

Yes... I pigged out
No... it didn't make me feel better
Yes... I will hang my head in shame (yet again) when the scales go up isntead of down when I weigh myself tomorrow...

Even LC meals drops my levels of ketones so I am not able to carb up. But some people can and it can have benefits for body building. If your body can handle it, give it a try

I love ketosis and no food is worth throwing myself back into glucose burning. I feel terrible in that state.

There have been a few times where I went off plan and had a higher carb day.
In each of those cases the next day showed a weight gain, but except for this last time, by the end of the week I had a net loss in weight. This last time, I did drop the two pounds I gained from my off plan day, but that's it. No further weight loss and it's been over a week since I ate the battered chicken and drank the bottle of beer.
People are so similar in so many ways....but when it comes to weight issues..nah uh...no way jose....we are all soooooooooo different.
