My scale :(

OK, it's digital, about a year or so old and I don't like it. It stays up against the wall in the kitchen, if I see it, I won't want to eat I found out this morning that if I move it first (so I don't whack my head on the wall) that it weighs me 3-4 pounds more. What the crap?! It's nice to know I finally know I am losing weight and not on a stall. I was starting to get really frustrated.

My scale is wonky, but part of it is likely that I have it on a tile floor what might not be 100% even. I don't think I have an even flat floor to put it on anywhere in my house! It is best, though, not to move it around constantly (i.e., push it against the wall to get it out of the way, then move it to weigh yourself). Keep it in one, level spot all the time. Also see if it has any instructions for calibrating. For mine stepping on and off quickly is supposed to "reset" it. That said, I usually weigh myself several times and I go with whatever it says after 2-3 of the same reading.

Our faithful old bathroom scale stays upright behind the door. I get on it every morning, before I eat or drink anything, feet in the same place on the scale, wearing the equivalent night clothes. It is the most consistant for me this way. I place it on the same spot in the floor, in front of the vanity which I hold on to until I have my balance.
I write it on my calandar over my desk, think about it for 5 minutes & move on with my day.

So your scale rewards you if you whack yourself in the head while getting on it?

Proof that our scales secretly want to do us harm.
