I used to use HWC but I eat and drink no dairy now, so my coffee has coconut milk and a tbsp of coconut oil in it. I'm used to it and enjoy it!

I love butter in my coffee. Usually I'll have coffee with cream and butter, oh and splenda. I've tried coconut oil and while I love a cold coffee drink with coconut oil, warm doesnt do it for me. You could also try making a hot chocolate drink in the am, I just put 1 tsp of unsweetened cocoa powder in a mug of hot water, add cream and splenda as I would a regular coffee. Very nice.

Right now I have been using 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and a sprinkle of cinnamon with 1/2 packet of splenda. Sometimes I don't do the coconut oil but I find that the cinnamon is essential, I love it!

Sometimes, when I have grass-fed unsalted butter I make the "bulletproof coffee" and it's delicious, but I just don't always have it on hand.

I used to do heavy cream or 1/2 and 1/2 but that didn't fill me up as long and I really need something to do that job because I do intermittent fasting and don't eat until around 2pm.

I normally drink 1 coffee per day but it's a fairly big one (16oz).

I do this, but have only worked up to 1 TBS so far of the coconut oil, and some days forget to put it in at all. Always HWC though.

I can't stand powdered creamer. that stuff is full of chemicals and tastes like it. I use HWC, sometimes half & half, and if I can't get either, I'll skip the coffee altogether.
Oh okay never heard of heavy whipping cream in coffee, interesting. Yeah I tried other kinds of creamers including the liquid kind, the liquid kind is okay but is sweet tasting and has more calories, so I stick with powdered creamer, it's either that or drink it black. Milk in coffee is horrible. I put milk in it only in dire emergencies and sometimes I prefer black over adding milk.

I always presumed cream in coffee was HWC.We don't have powdered creamer in New Zealand as far as I know so it never occurred to me.Most New Zealanders have black or use milk but I changed to HWC because of the carb count but none of my friends or many cafes have cream available.

In the States, cream in coffee, like out at restaurants, is most often half & half, which is half whipping cream, and half whole milk. Only coffee places will also have heavy (or light) whipping cream.

If you're just at a standard restaurant and ask for cream, half & half is what they'll bring. The carb count is almost as good as HWC, so I'm fine with that. When I'm home, or at a coffee shop, though, I'll trim the carbs by adding HWC. It's also so creamy that you can add less for the same effect.

Interesting, I'll have to try some HWC in my coffee.

I think the richness of the cream makes up for the not as rich 'mouth feel' of fake sugar.

Half and half works for me.
The heavy cream doesn't seem to blend as well.
Maybe someone can give me tips.
It is the homogenization of the milk that works so well to help the half and half blend so nicely ?

Good question, Bella... when I put HWC in hot coffee, sometimes I see the fat separate and form globules. But, most of the time when I use HWC instead of half n half, it is in a coffee protein shake (cold) and then I don't have any issue with it separating. I suppose someone could mix lecithin in their cream and it would help with emulsification?

I use almond milk and coconut oil in my first cup of coffee, or hwc with coconut oil. My morning coffee usually has around 220 calories and 25 g of fat. I do eat breakfast with it or shortly afterward. I've tried the bulletproof coffee for breakfast and it just does not keep me full.

The rest of the day I usually drink coffee black, no sweetener.

I copied Julie

Been off dairy for over a month now as my hormones were so out of whack. What a difference thus far.
