Someone share their knowledge with me. (pics)

I've recently gotten myself down to 236, but I've popped up back up to 240. My diet hasn't changed since I've started. I'm a creature of habit and I eat the same thing all the time. I don't eat franken food (bars, snacks, shakes) AT ALL. I don't eat veggies other than Lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower. I eat a lot of eggs, beef (because it's high in fat), chicken (non processed), and tuna. Condiments are mayo and mustard. The only dairy is colby jack cheese sticks 1-2 a day (except for once I made LindaSue's pizza crust which was induction friendly) I do love cured meats (pepperoni, beef hot dogs, Kielbasa, sausage patties *from a roll not preformed* ). Water is my main source of fluid. Sometimes I drink crystal light when I get in that mood where if I have to drink water I'll puke or diet if I'm not in the mood for CL. It's mainly water though!

Where am I going with this?! I want to know why I GAINED weight when I'm eating like above AND my Ketostick looks like this.......

It's darker in person!!

I also have times when I'm in ketosis yet I stall or gain. Maybe you're carrying a little more water weight due to excess sodium? A lot of the foods you mention are pretty high in sodium. Also, are you counting your calories? My weight tends to go up if I eat too much. Recently I have found that my weight loss is much better and more consistent when I eat 4 small meals/snacks and a normal LC lunch. I also drink a ton of water all day long. Hope you figure out what works for you since we all seem to respond differently! Good luck!

Almost certainly water weight particularly if it was a sudden increase rather than gradual.

You've lost 50 pounds (Congrats!!!) so something to keep an eye out for is eating as though you didn't lose those 50 pounds. 3000 calories at 280 is a deficit but at 236 may not be a big enough deficit to continue losing weight. Under eating can also stall you.

Hi Rebecca!

A general bit of information that is useful to remember is that the body has a natural shift in fluids and that can be as much as 4lbs.. If you happen to weigh at the time that natural shift is at the lowest end and then the next time you weigh, it is at it's highest end, the 4 lbs. are revealed!

I'm thinking too much salt caused you to gain water weight. Try cutting out the processed meats and see how it goes. Also, I have found only this month after 2 years of eating low carb that ditching the scale has been way more beneficial for me than weighing everyday...which I was doing up until 3 weeks ago. I'm finding that I focus more on my health and how I feel that what that number says. It's hard to put it away, for sure. I get to weigh in on the 27th as part of my once per month plan.

First: on the 50 gone! that's super! Celebrate girl!

Next, a question: how long has it been since you lost any? Since you've gained?

I am leaning toward the water weight too. I'd cut out the processed and cheese for a while and see if it budges.

I had times when my weight would stall for a while, then, if I kept eating well, would eventually drop again. I still believe in set points.

Let us know how it goes.

And...one more....Wooohooo on the 50!

It's water. Weight fluctuates. It has nothing to do with fat loss or fat gain.

I've been holding steady at 239 but I weighed this evening on a whim. It registered at 239! Soo I expect to be down a little tomorrow morning! If not there is always tomorrow!
