I'm proud I still have not drank. It's been a month as of today. I've been back on plan 100% and getting my workouts back right. I'm down about 20lbs of the gain I got over the last 6 months.

Fitting into a pair of jeans quite easily with a little bit of room to spare when a few months ago it was more of a sausage-squeeze ordeal.

It's getting easier to ride my bike long distances (3.5 miles to work, with alot of hills) Yesterday I only had to walk it up 2 hills versus the 4 or 5 times I had to walk it up hills when I first got it.

I will need to get new pj's soon, as the ones I wearing now are HUGE

I stayed on plan during a 5 day conference!
Drinking enough water was a big challenge, though.

I'm proud that I went to chick-fil-a this morning and didn't get a biscuit!!If anyone remembers when I first started, I had a problem eating chicken egg and cheese biscuits for breakfast every morning I just found out yesterday that you can order scrambled eggs with cheese (they call them egg bowls) and a spicy fillet or sausage patty or bacon, and a large unsweet tea for a total of only 8 carbs with the chicken, less for the sausage or bacon, (not sure of the fiber count, if any) AND it was only for $4.50!

This is huge for me to not eat that biscuit, and not even think twice about wanting to order it!

AGAIN I was offered free french fries.

Again I turned them down.

But why did this never happen before I went back on plan? And why does this keep happening when I'm starving?

Proud

I am always proud when I make something low-carb instead of purchasing. I made low-carb desserts: cheesecake and peanut butter fudge. Some things I've prepared this week: chicken wings, brats, steak, and deviled eggs. I like to drink diet rootbeer with heavy cream, like a float. Its hard for my husband to give up his granola or protein bars with his coffee for breakfast. Does anyone have a substitute for bars?

I don't have an actual sub for bars...but when I'm craving granola or cereal I put 1/4 cup of the unsweetened dry coconut in a bowl with two drops sweetener and some warm water. Sounds weird, but accidentally discovered it when trying to sweeten some coconut. Tastes just like granola to me...maybe you could throw in some sunflower seeds too.

Lately I've been realizing what a badass I really am. I've got a lot of stick-to-it-iveness. I quit smoking cold- turkey 19 months ago after smoking a pack a day for 20 years. I have stuck with my exercise for the past two years, even though I wasn't raised in a physically active family. I've stayed on Atkins for about 14 weeks now- not one cheat- even though I have only lost 12 pounds. I haven't given up. I'm really proud of my persistence.

I've been back only since June 2nd. And I've only lost about 3 pounds. However, I have had 5 "challenges" in that short time frame. One of which was my birthday! All 5 times, I stayed on plan. I always got the chicken cesear salad and told them to leave the croutons off. One of the challenges was a weekend at work and they brought in Jimmy Johns sandwich platters. I only ate some almonds when I got hungry and then came home to my low carb dinner. In the past, I would have eaten the sandwich, chips and the cookie! But I didn't.

Since I'm losing very slowing now (turning 51 doesn't help with that!), I'm focusing on the NSV's more this time.

I've gone to the movies a few times in the last couple of weeks, and only had a diet coke each time. I'm not a huge popcorn person, but popcorn and the movies just go together, so that's a hard one for me.

This last time was the most tempting, as I was between two friends who were sharing popcorn. I lost count of the number of times the popcorn tub was passed in front of me. They offered to switch seats, but I realized that it wasn't that big a deal. Tempting, yes, but not much more than that.

WTG Ntombi! That would have been crazy hard! I was in Target the other day and when I smelled the popcorn there, I almost lost it, and I never used to get it before! It was just that delicious smell and knowing I can't have it I guess, but I don't know if I'd have had the intestinal fortitude to pass the bucket and not take a handful! You rock!!

We went to the restaurant yesterday . Usually I say I'm going to stay op and then all bets are off once I get there. I checked online menus and nutrition. And, I made a healthy choice!! 8oz med rare steak with portobello mushrooms, with a side Caesar no croutons and a diet coke! And I am sooooooo glad I stayed op! I used to beat myself up about it afterwards.

This is also around the time I quit because of post induction stall. Well, I broke thru yesterday and am down 3 more lbs. so, I am determined to ride this out. From journalling before, I have realized after the post induction stall, I typically lose weight every 2nd week. The week of aunt flo, and the week of ovulation for some reason I plateau. But I average 5-6 lbs a month and am okay with that. Better than the alternative!

I am proud of myself for not existing in a place of regret, perfection, or negativity. Those things drain me.

Instead I dwell in a place of learning, adaptation, and celebration of my efforts. That small difference alone is the necessary shift I've needed for success.

I'm proud of myself not regaining all of the weight I lost. After my depressing summer, I have regained 10 pounds. Yes, I did slip into carbdom. No, I did not decide to take up permanent residence. For that, I am proud!

I am proud that I have finally found a plan that I can actually lose weight with. This is the first time I have actively "dieted" to try to lose. I am down 26 pounds in 12 weeks.

I am also proud that I was able to shop in the misses dept. instead of the women's dept. I had to go with our super skinny cheer coach to buy our coaches shirts and I fit into an XL rather than a 1x. Woohoo!
