I've GAINED weight!!!

I've been back on the low carb wagon, without cheats, for the past two weeks.

I'm feeling good and I think I look better, too. My stomach isn't bloated anymore, bum feels smaller, and so on.

I finally decided to weigh today and I've gained three pounds since two weeks ago, putting me at my all-time highest weight ever.

I know that the scale is mean and I should just focus on the fact that I feel better and my clothes fit better, but I'm just so terrified of continuing to gain weight! I'm really scared that low carb might not work for me anymore, and by eating meat and so on I'm just a total fatty deluding myself into having bacon!!! Maybe I only THINK I'm losing weight and in fact am piling it on???

I lost the weight I wanted to lose (15lbs, taking me to normal BMI) in two weeks the first time I did low carb. Every day the scale went down a bit. This time... I'm tearing my hair out! I WISH I hadn't turned my back on low carb in the first place- I gained back all my weight in two weeks and have since added more!!!

I was so proud of myself for getting back on the low carb wagon as well...

I'M SO SCARED LOW CARB WON'T WORK FOR ME ANYMORE

Please help! Any words of encouragement?

Are you counting calories? I second posting a typical menu.

It could be your scale, too.
Moving a scale around, dropping it, low-battery, etc can cause it to give you different readings.

This-change tbe batteries in your scale. Mine starts messing weights up when it needs a new battery. And also make sure you keep your scale in the same spot. It's weird, but I weigh in differntly if my scale is in my bathroom vs my hallway I keep it in my hallway now and my family knows it's forbidden to touch it lol.

How much do you have to lose? If it's a small amount, your body may be turning fat to muscle and the scale's reading would be deceptive. Are you taking measurements? They give you a clearer picture of what's going on with your body than the scale.

Scale issues, tom, water retention, exercise, natural fluid fluctuations... all these can mess with weight loss. And don't forget you are seeing body composition improvements. As others have suggested, provide more details....

It might also matter as to when you weighed yourself the first time and second time.. I find I am usually 3-4 lbs lighter in the morning as oppose to later in the day.

It could definitely be a scale issue. I can't go by the scale because, for example, this morning I weighed and it said 313.6, I was so excited! Then I weighed a second time, because I like to get two consistent readings, and it said 318.4, then 320.2, then 322.6. Thats a 9lb fluctuation in minutes! I was gaining weight by the second! lol. So I just go by measurements and my clothes because the scale is a liar! Keep doing what your doing and I'm sure you will continue to lose the weight!

You may be gaining muscle. It can be frustration to look at the scale. I'd stick to measurements. It's a better indicator of fat loss.
