Any liquid Stevia based products like Da Vinci?

Would like to get away from using the syrups that have Splenda, wondered if anyone was making a similar product like Daunci syrup only using Stevia?

I googled "stevia coffee syrups" and a few stores/sites came up.
I didn't check to see if they're current, but there's a good place to start looking.

I'd be curious if anyone knows how to make any syrups with extracts and stevia.

I've found one at my local Raley's a few months ago. It's called Sweet Leaf liquid stevia, it's in a small dropper bottle. They have several flavors, and I've seen tons of flavors at Whole Foods. I bought the Vanilla Creme flavor and use it in my coffee every morning. It's $13.99 per bottle, but a bottle will probably last a year, because you only use 5 or 6 drops in a cup of coffee. I've had mine for months, and it's still 3/4 full.

Just find I react a little to too much Splenda sometimes, not sure why but it makes my arms itch. I know. Crazy. Stevia doesn't do that.

Splenda gives me heart palpitations/irregular heartbeat. So I started researching it, and it's nothing but chemicals, and it's very common for people to experience those effects (and worse) from it. So, I stopped using all chemical sweeteners and went with Stevia.

Monin syrups are excellent and not entirely sucralose, if I recall. Netrition sells them.

Going to take Dottie's advice and google it. I, too, prefer not to use Splenda.

I don't know of any syrups but there are a few different companies that make flavored liquid stevia - SweetLeaf is one.

Yup, just checked - Monin has erythritol and sucralose, which is preferable to straight sucralose in taste and reaction, I'd say

Just an FYI, netrition sells the Sweetleaf drops for $9.99 per bottle, and they have a ton more flavors than Whole Foods (at least my Whole Foods). It tastes ok. I still prefer the taste of the DaVinci or Monin syrups, but as I've slowly been cleaning up my diet, I'm at the point where I need to stop with the artificial sweeteners

Just a side note, I've been off of the artificial sweeteners for about 3 months now, and it did not jumpstart my weight loss after a very.long.stall I was so hoping that AS were the cause of my stall, but nope.

Hi Matt,

I've been making my own Stevia syrups since 2003 ;-) You will find my efforts described in this thread:

Hope this helps...locarbman ;-)

This isn't a syrup, but I have been making my own SF flavored creamer lately.

I open a can of coconut cream (I use the Whole Foods brand because it doesn't separate) and pour it into a jar or bottle. I add a half tsp of vanilla and liquid stevia to taste. It keeps in the fridge 7-10 days or so and it is yummy without all the junk. Much cheaper than the coconut creamers I had been buying since I have been cutting waaaaaaayyyy back on dairy.

That's a great idea Gina!
BTW if you have a Trader Joes, those cans of coconut milk that don't separate are only 99 cents there! Just to let you know

I have a liquid sweetner product called Stevia and Monk Fruit. Two drops equals one teaspoon sugar. It tasts pretty good. The label reads zero calories, zero carbs. I bought it from E-Z Sweetz.

You could also buy Capella or other flavor drops and then add your preferred stevia.

I'm not an expert, but in some studies I read about, I'm sorry I can't remember where, I think it was in Secrets to a Healthy Metabolism by Maria Emmerich, but perhaps in Wheat Belly or Primal Blueprint or all (I've been reading so much lately) it is argued that splenda can impact insulin causing it to raise/spike (I forget which) similar to regular sugar. As a result they suggest other sweetners be used that have less of an impact on blood sugar and insulin.

Yeah, they're pretty yucky on their own!
I like them because you can control the flavoring/sweetness ratio more than with syrups. Also, cheaper per serving & much less packaging.

Sweet leaf stevia comes in 2 sizes - 2 oz and 4 oz. compare pricing. Let us know if it cheaper online or in the supermarket. I get it on sale in the regular supermarket's health food section for $12.99. I love Butter Toffee and Chocolate Raspberry.

Thanks!

I Trader Joes and mostly go to WF for the coconut milk. Luckily they are just a couple of blocks from each other, but you just saved me some time & money.
