Swapping Dukan for Atkins WOE

Hello everyone,
I'm thinking of moving to Atkins from the Dukan diet.
The reason is because, for me, I'm just not getting any energy from the Dukan WOE.
Also, my moods have changed from doing this WOE.

Just wondering if anyone has made this swap, and if so, how did it go for you?
Did you put on much weight with the changeover?

Just any info would be great! Thanks very much for any replies.

First of all:

I did the dukan years ago. Initially, I lost weight, but then the low fat and the high protein stalled me. Also the oat bran did nothing but give me IBS. I stopped it. I didn't do a direct swap, I ended up doing a major detour off the wagon completely! Now I'm back doing good old Atkins style High Fat, Medium Protein, Low Carb. I feel good. I am not sure about weightgain from going from Dukan to Atkins.

I guess you will have to keep an open mind and see how it goes? Sorry I can't be more helpful!

All I can say is that you really need to stick to induction if you want to start Atkins. Do a clean Induction, minimum two weeks, no tweaking, no changing things around. Don't worry about weightloss or gain in those first two weeks. Then, evaluate how you feel and look at your weight. If you are happy, and you feel better, then congratulations, you have found your new WOE!

Also, you may get some induction flu, depending on how high your carbs were on Dukan... Just a heads up!

Good luck and do let us know how you get on! (And we're here to help, so don't be shy and ask lots!)

Dr. Eades wrote a great two part blog post about getting through induction flu. Google 'dr. eades tips & tricks'.

I hope you decide to make the change. The book I read rating various low carb plans had a variety of reasons Atkins is better for you and works better too, not that I can recite them off the top of my head! LOL good luck.
