Going on vacation, I'm ready!
This is the first time in a looooong time where I am not afraid of gaining 10 lbs while on vacation! I'm planning to enjoy myself, and not count calories, but I plan to stay within my food group. We eat mostly at buffets where we are staying and they always have tons of items that are low carb. They even carry sugar free desserts. Alcohol doesn't stall me, so I plan to enjoy! ;)
What makes it easier this time, I think, is that not only do I not want to gain weight back, but more importantly I know if I go way off my plan I will feel like crap for the rest of the week. I DO NOT want a vacation of heartburn and tummy troubles! I'm ready to enjoy vacation within my food plan! :jumpjoy: |
:yahoo: Yeah! I am going on vacation on March 16 and plan to stay on track as much as possible as well. I am going on a cruise for the first time so I know there will be plenty of food, but I am not worried. I may try a couple of sugar-free desserts as well. Have a great time!

Thanks!! You have a great time as well! It's been 25 years since I was on a cruise, but I do remember they had an awesome selection of food. You should not have a problem finding something yummy!

My DH routinely gains 10 lbs when he goes on vacation or if people come stay with us for an extended period of time. He tends to let loose and eat for two! I'm not sure why?! :stars: Buffets and him...he always tries to get his money's worth. :hyst:
Good for you. I like your determination. Hope you have a great vacation and Mistizoom - you too! :) |
I hope you have lots of fun---that's the most important thing!

Enjoy your vacation. I am with you buffets at the resorts have so much to chose from and lots of low carb options. I eat so much seafood and fish it is crazy. Good luck and have fun.

Vacation update!
I got back from vacation, weighed the next morning and I had lost a pound!! :jumpjoy:
Even with not counting calories and imbibing in quite a few cocktails!! When I did eat I just stuck to low carb but yummy foods - breakfast was usually a huge omelet with cheese and mushrooms, spinach. Bacon, even a little fruit. Dinners were nice cuts of meat and veggies. Even enjoyed a sugar free piece of cheesecake one night. (at least I hope it was sugar free. It tasted awfully good! But I was assured it was) The awesome part is that this now makes a total of 40 lbs lost!! |

Congrats on the 40lbs down. That's a real achievement. |
That's great news! I never do that good when I go out of town and feel like crap by the time I get home. I am hoping to do better on the next vacation.
