Stall??

On the 1st, I weighed 266.6, and since then I have gone up a few lbs (water weight?) and then slowly started coming back down...SLOWLY. Today the 6th, I am back to my low at 266.6. But after losing .5-1.5lbs a day, these last 5 days have been TORTURE!

Would this be considered a stall? The only thing I can think of is I probably wasn't drinking enough water... and possibly too much salt Friday and Saturday??

I'm really hoping that tomorrow I see an actual LOSS to get back to losing some chunk! It really helps with my motivation. I really dislike feeling like I'm doing to best I can making all these "good choices" when the scale doesn't move!

I've chosen this lifestyle...and I LOVE it!

No, a stall is 6 weeks with no weight or inches lost. If you didn't take multiple measurements at the beginning, do it now.

Many of us bounce around a lot on the scale, but ultimately keep losing. I recently went through an almost three week period with no scale losses, but my clothes were slowly getting bigger. You have to keep on eating cleanly, don't slack during these periods. It's happening, just on a metric you can't see right now.

I agree, I don't think it is a stall. I find times when the scale is up, I ate too much salt, it's that TOM, I ate too much fiber or too many sugar alcohols, or I just plain ate too much. Just keep at it and it will come off eventaully, even if slowly. You've lost a lot of weight very quickly and this might be your body's adjustment period.

My scale is up when I've done none of those things. Sometimes it's just up for no discernible reason; you just have to keep on moving forward.

What she said! Sometimes people rush to start tinkering with their WOE when they see little fluctuations. If you're on plan, there's nothing to worry about. Fluctuation isn't punishment for doing some subtle thing wrong - it can happen because the scale isn't a perfect way of measuring health.

If seeing the ups and downs gets on your nerves, you can look at the average for the past seven days instead. If you're using a computer tracker, this is easy enough to set up (though the exact details will vary depending what you're using).

Or just stop weighing daily.

I weigh daily because I'm a data junky, and it helps keep me on track, even when the scale isn't giving me the news I want to see. But if it doesn't work for you, don't do it.

I weigh daily and measure monthly. They tell me different things, both helpful in keeping me on track.

if you do weigh daily, try plugging the numbers into a spreadsheet (or logging them on an online tracker, some of which will make a chart for you). this way, you can observe the downward trend over time, instead of focusing on the day-to-day blips in the numbers. many on this board have done this and it's really cool to see the huge changes in weight over 6 months or a year... although in some week, it doesn't look like any change has taken place.

Agreed. This is my chart from February. You can see where I had that weeks-long period where I was up for no reason, working back down, and kept on going. This is not abnormal for me (though this was longer than most), but the ultimate trajectory is always down! I did nothing different before or after the bump, just kept plugging along, eating cleanly, and doing what I needed to do.

I'm now a few pounds below that low point on the graph.

I weigh everyday just to see the pattern of what my body does during TOM, eating certain meals, etc. Somedays i just hate the scale but as long as its going down, even after fluctuating up, I'm good.
