I can't Believe...

How easy it is to slip into old detrimental habits...one week ago I asked this forum for help choosing a suitable food item at a Chinese buffet. I thought I did well and got back on track the next day...had a small gain. This past week has been hard...each day I have eaten crap...meaning I am readdicted to bad carbs. Doesn't take much...I am now up about 5-6 pounds and I need to get this back under control. NOW! I know what I have to do...I will do it one day at a time. I am just shaking my head at how easy it is for me to spiral downward. I don't think I will ever be a person that can enjoy carb filled food...I have to accept this and move on...just had to vent.

Me, too, Kim.... I had two bad days - over ate ON PLAN and I'm up 5 pounds since this time last week. I can't just eat unlimited amounts of ANYTHING. Today I'm back to measuring and tracking- nothing goes in my mouth without tracking, drinking more water and move more (resuming a daily walk or intervals).

Same here.

For me, there is no "in moderation". I'm either on track or "off the rails crazy".
Just not wired for occasional cheats or "less than perfect" choices.

The good news is that after years at this, my "crazy" patches are getting shorter and less frequent. Progress, not perfection.

It's so nice to know I'm not alone...it's like the carb flood gates opened when I had that one meal...and I thought I did so well. I guess at least I am taking care of the gain now and not when it has become 10-15 pounds or worse...gawd when will I learn?

NO, I can't eat "just one!"
ReStart. Go back to induction & burn off those carbs. The longer you wait, the more you have to purge from your system. I usually take 3 days to get my body used to LC again but every restart is not created equal!
