I'll disagree with the reaction being too soon.
I got sick from blue cheese dressing and potato salad (2 different times, 2 different restaurants) and it was only about 30 minutes later both times. We didn't even make it home before it hit me. Another time (one of those "just kill me and get it over with" kinds) from raw oysters was only about 2 hours later. |

A plate of Kung Pao Chicken put me in the hospital for five days with a raging case of Salmonella and C-Difficile.

Did they say at your hospital it could have been a stomach virus??? My sister in law just had a BAD stomach virus for two days. She said it killed her stomach. That it was very painful. It hit her just like it did you about an hour after she ate a peanut butter sandwich. They told her at the doctor`s office it was a very bad virus that was going around.I hope you are feeling much better.

I have accidentally given myself food poisoning from chicken. I didn't cook it enough. I got sick within 30 minutes. I was sick for 2 days straight and after that I was sick for another week. My sickness during the last week included bouts of extreme exhaustion. Food poisoning has made my stomach feel like an alien was going to come out. I hope you feel better. I always temp my chicken now, washing the temp gauge each time.

Did you have pain with it? Your gall bladder can start to fail without you having stones. My sister just had hers removed because of that, but had no stones. You will feel the pain up under your ribcage and around to your back. Any type of food can set it off in my experience. They SAY eat low fat, but that didn't help me at all. I had to get through a pregnancy and then have it removed. It was awful, but I felt better once it was gone.
