Food Day at work :(
It's gonna be rough...it's Mexican themed. And it smells so good in here now!! I will truely be impressed if I make it through this!
On the plus side, I brought in some Mexican Lasagna, sort of Linda Sue's recipe, I made a few changes with what I already had in the cabinet/fridge. It is awesome so that will help, But dang does it smell good in this office! About the only thing I can have is Buffalo Dip, without the chips, but I just reember I have vegy's I can use. ![]() |

Have your dish, buffalo dip and veggies, and tell yourself how good your going to feel tonight once its all said and done that YOU stayed the course.
Our church had dessert night Monday after a concert and there was NOTHING LC.(I hadnt planned on attending so I got a quick bakery cake that night-not LC)I visited with friends, drank coffee, and you know what?,it was NO BIG DEAL.Oh,I had the "whats one cookie gonna hurt" moment but I was so close to a new decade I resisted and the scale pd. off the next day!

We have a lot of bakers in the office and there has been a sweet treat (cakes, muffin, cup cakes) in the kitchen everyday this week and tomorrow is bagel and donut day. I have been so happy with myself that I have been able to pass on these treats, I'm not even tempted!
You can do it. Now, I'm off to Linda Sue's site to find that Mexican Lasagna recipe! |

last night I had a professional association meeting.. full pasta dinner with several cakes that looked really good for dessert! I ate beforehand, but the temptation was killer!

I worked in an office full of overweight people who had office "pig outs" on a regular basis. I got the old "everything in moderation", and "a little won't hurt you". If I gave in and started sampling things, it was all over. I would go home and feel awful.
The way I got through these was by cooking the night before, and bringing plenty of good food to fill up on. After eggs and bacon in the morning, and a steak for lunch, it's much easier to resist the donuts, bagels, cookies, cake, and all the other junk everyone was stuffing themselves with. It was nice to go home and feel great! |

Great job! It feels so good to escape junky food traps. And, every time you do it, it tends to get easier and easier. I always try to think about how I will feel right after, several hours later, and the next day after eating X food, and find that thinking that over helps to stop me from eating the food.

Tomorrow is one of my best friend's birthday party. There'll be lots of good carby food and lots of alcohol. I know I'm not going to stay on plan for the occasion, so I'm already wondering what I'm going to do come Saturday! LOL

I would think Mexican would be easy.. no? Load up on any guacamole, salsa... I eat it with a fork! If they have the fixings to make a salad with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, meat, cheese, sour cream, etc.

I'm always happy when the choice is Mexican because I can order fajitas and a side order of guacamole and salsa. I offer the accompanying rice, beans, and tortillas to my companions or ignore them as if they were just "garnishes" (like parsley) to the "real" (lowcarb) food that I eat.

You know, this is why I should stay home from work every day!!! The first floor of my building was having a pizza party right in the hall. Right outside there was a free grill, but it was too cold to stand in line and wait for a burger or hot dog (not with a bun
). Inside the other building, there were tables of desserts--a bake sale! And then I found some Mojo bars I had tucked into a desk months ago, and some candy from Italy my friend gave to me. But, I shoved it right back in there. The hardest thing was the pizza in the hallway. How dare they!!! I can't get to the printer without passing the aromas... |
