As I was making my lunch last night, my husband asked me if my colleagues ever asked about my food. I said no, because I usually eat chilled salad and hot soup, and I sit in my cubicle rather than eating with anyone else. But today it's venison salad and curried carrot soup... which he thinks is pretty special.

Though I suppose I could imagine someone looking at it and thinking it looks kinda gross.

I can't imagine someone saying that to me. And I'd probably just smile and laugh a little, "assuming" that they're making a joke, and agree, "Yeah, but it sure tastes good and it's good for me!"

It definitely takes the wind out of someone's mean-sails when you react as if they've made a funny joke, and then agree with them.

I would have to say... might look gross.. but tastes great.

Well, if it kills me.... I will have at least enjoyed it.
